Mandalorian Season 3

Bo Katan 'joined' the Clan to get the bodies to take Mandalore again. Remember the tale of the 1st Mandalor she recited from the plaque. He defeated the Mythasur to become Mandalore. Thats why Bo didnt tell anyone. She want to become Mandalor by defeating the Mythasur so the rest of the Mandos will follow her,

And on that note…

This is one very silly show that is about as deep as a bathtub, when you really think about it.

She wants to defeat the giant monster thing (aka the video game “Super Boss”) so that the group of weirdos who never take the buckets off of their heads will not deny that she is the coolest one of all…

Funny GIF

Oh, well…as they say…”This is the way”…

Hmmm, I remember cloning being a pretty big part of Thrawn's story in the various books. It's been a while though.
It was, though the EU never got to the point where they addressed if the clone would still be "Thrawn" or not, iirc.

Also, just yesterday I discovered, quite by accident, where your avatar comes from. I have wondered forever.

And also maybe more tangentially, we have Luuke Skywalker and Joruus C'baoth. Though frankly a bit cheesy, part of me wonders if we'll see some version of one or both of them at some point, especially with Mt. Tantiss now in the picture.

And nice! I get people that occasionally comment on the avatar and seem to be surprised by who it is! Haha!

Ok that's it, SW TV is now officially ST TV.

For the longest time I wouldn't believe it.....until I saw it will my own eyes.

Take all the goofy fun with a slight meaning that is ALL of the SW movies and DRAMATISE IT down to be a weekly soap opera.

George Lucas is a lot of things, but HE KNEW it would ALWAYS be a mistake to make SW a weekly TV show.

You'd think that knowing there are ginormous crocodiles lurking in the sea and having had several incidents where raptors abducted younglings before, the Mandalorians would find a better spot to conduct their training. Also, is it me or did they seem disorganized in their training, with several groups looking like they were doing their own things. I've seen terrorist camps in movies with better training arrangements than the Mandalorians in that covert.

A fun, but short episode. Carl Weathers really kept the flow moving while giving us a lot of lore-building exposition. Looked like the 'training' was more skill drills with challengers testing various aspects of the different disciplines.

Pretty big suspension of disbelief with Ragnar not being raptor poo-doo by the time they arrived, but it made as much sense as Shmi still being alive when Anakin found her, & that was written by god himself, evidently. LOL.

We ended up watching it a second time, just to pay attention to what the other Mandos were doing & checking out their armor.

Also really liked the reveal of Grogu's savior. Great to see that he's able to make peace with the franchise.

Speaking about STAR WARS: UNDERWORLD...

"It sits on the shelf. We have 50 hours. We are trying to figure out a different way of making movies. We are looking for a different technology that we can use, that will make it economically feasible to shoot the show. Right now, it looks like the Star Wars features. But we have to figure out how to make it at about a tenth of the cost of the features, because its television. We are working toward that, and we continue to work towards that. We will get there at some point. It's just a very difficult process. Obviously, when we do figure this problem out, it will dramatically effect features, because feature films are costing between $250 to $350 million. When we figure this out, they will be able to make a feature film for $50 million."
-George Lucas

Then he followed that up with this in 2008...

"It's kind of like Episode IV — it's funny and there's action, but it's [a] lot more talky. It's more of what I would call a soap opera with a bunch of personal dramas in it. It's not really based on action-adventure films from the '30s — it's actually more based on film noir movies from the '40s!"

So .. yeah.

For all the folks that think these shows are 'blasphemous' to the OT, it's the EXACT direction 'The Maker' was heading. When the show got shelved, Lucas had 50 hours of script, with 100 planned & the possibility to go as many as 400.

Boy…the Mandos are sure lucky that the Raptor of Lake Powell doesn’t do like most predators and immediately kill their prey and spit the masticated bits into their chicks’ mouths….

I wondered why they were able to casually plan their attack, sleep, and get up the next morning and proceed with the rescue.

A pretty pointless episode, in my opinion….indeed, “this is the way”.

Is that really such a major contrivance that it usurps your ability to suspend disbelief?
I presume there would be some sort of tech that keeps the air relatively still for the occupants. Seems to me that in a real-world scenario, most riders would want that, and it certainly isn't beyond the pale for the general level of technology in this particular universe. I also would absolutely not expect this to be mentioned in dialogue -- in fact, I would expect that they would not mention it.

When the CTs showed up, and started barking commands, I'm like, "That doesn't sound anything like Dee Bradley Baker. They couldn't be bothered with pulling him in for an hour of voice-over work, and settled for an iffy voice-double??"

And then, a few minutes later, I realized I am an idiot.

Also, while really nitpicky, it did bug me and take me out of the scene

When the Dr is taking the equivalent of a taxi and they are flying across the city, despite having an open topped vehicle, there is absolutely no wind?

I thought at one point, maybe they had a dome over the car, but no, there is not even a windshield. Just seemed like a very lazy attention to detail unless I am missing something

It’s sort of the same way that “Baby Fett” can get regurgitated and spat out of a creature’s mouth and be perfectly clean, dry, and and not covered in stomach juice / vomit….

Pretty cheap production values there…

I just couldn't get past the fact that Ragnar basically lived IN THE STOMACH of this thing, overnight. Not to mention that Bo followed the raptor to it's nest, marked it's location, went back to recruit & equip the war party, camped overnight, scaled the cliff, & the raptor shows up, probably from maybe hunting, WITH THE KID STILL IN IT'S STOMACH.

LOL

I'm sure that there's a canon explanation, like the raptor has several compartments in it's guts, with one that particularly is evolved to keep prey alive until it's ready to eat it.
