The Bo-Katan on throne thing brings up a more practical nit I've had for awhile — can anybody occasionally wear something other than their armor or their only outfit for once? It really does feel like these are just action figures and not actual people when they never change clothes over the course of the YEARS in the timeline these shows take place.
In the case of Bo's appearance this episode, it's not like we wouldn't recognize her if she was in more casual home garb, especially when Din says her name at the top of the scene (although she likely tossed on the armor right before he arrived in case of trouble or just to demand respect). And how is Grogu still wearing the same tattered burlap sack for 3 seasons now? It's iconic, sure, but get the little guy some new clothes for Pete's sake! I understand costumes can be expensive so it's easier to stick to one, but they don't have to get crazy with it. Just throw some Star Wars civilian clothes on some of these guys when they're hanging around or something for once, please!
I don't really see what's so silly about it. It's just a quirky custom of a quasi(?)-religious cult. There are all kinds of real world religions and cults that have what may seem to some like odd habits and dress codes as well. I also think there is confusion regarding the helmets because I've seen some people that seem to mistake "never taking their helmets off around other people" for "never taking their helmets off at all".Yeah that is goofy. Bo Katan is leader of her clan though, so maybe she is expected to wear her armor whenever she's "working". In the Republic Commando novels, the Mando characters only wore their armor when they were going into an environment that might be threatening, to intimidate, or into actual combat. Otherwise they were in street clothes and it was commented on that the lack of armor didn't make them any less intimidating. IMO the goofiest thing ever is Death Watch not removing your helmet. I'm guessing they mean removing it around non Mandos, but it just sounds silly. The other thing that needs addressing, other than they just changed it on a whim, is that Death Watch and regular Mandalorians would shoot each other on sight, no questions because Death Watch are traitors. In the series Bo Katan comments on Din being part of a cult, but was willing to talk to him.

Not just you. Even just comparing each season premiere, this one is without a doubt bottom of the barrel. Is it just me or did the first episode seem seriously lacking compared to S1-S2 generally.
The other aspect of this is that Bokatan was seen as a terrorist to the pacifist Mandalorians, so every time she brings something up, my inner dialogue goes “bihhhhh plleeeaaassseeee.”Yeah that is goofy. Glad I'm not the only one whose ears perked up when I heard "belters"Oye Beltalowda!

The more I think about this the more I lean on believing that the Death Watch finished when Bo Karan’s Night Owls left and Maul took over. I imagine that it was such a huge event that they differentiated the groups that still aligned/descended from Death Watch as Children of the Watch. My best real world parallel would be Daughters of the American Revolution(DAR)≈Children of the Watch after The American Revolutionary War≈Takeover of Mandalore. Also, can we assume the Children of the Watch are the same as the Death Watch?

Fug Ugly they are..
(used to be £20-£40)
Obey,consume...Not too keen on the character or the inner workings of what they’ve written anymore…it seems as if they don’t want you to think about the details.
Sounds like my reaction after seeing Book of BobaI’m having way too much fun with this but still holding on to hope that he hits his stride! I just read this passage from an Inverse review:
“The Mandalorian painted itself into a corner with the plot points it scattered like birdseed across Season 2 and TBBF but instead of picking at these loose ends and tying them up over the course of the season, Episode 1 dedicates itself to that necessary evil, leaving Episode 2 to (thankfully) deliver more considered, progressing, and episodic plot like we’re used to. After watching the first two episodes of the season, we can promise it’s worth it in the end.”
