Magic of Myth ( MoM ) Luke RotJ Hero ( cave build ) lightsaber research, images, reference, & collaborative model builder's discussion.

There would be a lot of thick activated super glue between the rail and the box to keep the same 18mm card (the size of the box width should be 18 too). Basically the grey rails are at least flush with the inner wall but not impeding where the 785 couldn’t be removed with some fanangling

Interesting question - do the gray rails hang over the inside edge of the thin box wall? I imagine you would be able to remove the 785 board if they didn’t

Completely agree

Hey everyone, so I stumbled upon this forum while in the journey of my own lightsaber build specifically Luke’s ROTJ saber. This thread has been so helpful and such a great read all of your knowledge is so great and help me with my saber. The one I have created here I know is not accurate to the degree you all have accomplished it is however a fun build I did on my spare time with the scrap stainless parts I have accumulated over time then TIG welded it all together then painted / weathered it. Like I stated I know it’s not accurate, love it or hate it. It sure was fun to build one in my own way. Thank you all for your inspiration.

All the best,
Bradley

Is that grip made from a lead screw? That thing looks awesome!

omg, I love the screw forward grip! That would have been a fresh idea for new lightsaber designs..

Hey guys, I’m working on turning some lightsaber parts and I accidentally made the messy end of the nipple on this saber. I was using this tool

I completely agree with you Tom, I never believed the blade to have marked the nipple the way we see it today

I think you are on to something

Have to say, that looks pretty damn similar. Nice work, Tom! Maybe a combination of both perhaps? The first outer ring does seem to match up to the width of the Yuma blade collar, that's all. And seems to be more pronounced than the others. But that image is pretty compelling, Tom! Those marks are very similar!

It was kind of an accident, I was trying to remove material a decent amount at a time and this cutter made some great chips. I stopped and felt the surface and was like oh! This feels just like my DaveP Hero nipple! It looks like it spiraled and skipped a little, taking rings of material off because I was advancing a little hard.

My lathe only has one speed and a hand-crank x and y axis, and it flexes a little because it's just heavy T slot bolted together. I really saw this and was like... damn, I guess they really wanted to face the nipple quickly lol
