I’ve heard the helmet is made of a metal that can absorb lightsaber energy but is actually quite brittle against anything else…

So I mean, it’s broken cuz it’s crappy for anything except head butting saber beams.

Cool with me.

People complain there’s nothing new about Star Wars… then they introduce something and people lose their minds… even when it’s something from their old legends stuff…

I just saw him headbutting beams and thought “cool. Something new”

Prequels made lightsaber fighting boring and it’s been boring since. These fights at least felt… brutal?

Like when Maul was ballet dancing around I didn’t find it threatening. This guy slashing up everyone in the woods - I’d prob just peace out.

I’d be that guy like with tony stark in Iron Man 3

Cortosis armor is cool. The helmet design is stupid. It's like what a 12 year old would come up with. They should have dumped the "smile" like a hot potato. It's silly. They could have kept some stuff in the front to evoke "teeth." And it would have looked fine.

My friend and I looked at said at the same time "bring out the gimp". Like a few others have posted the Pulp Fiction meme,I thought the gimp fled Zed's basement in the pawnshop and some how returned somewhere else.

It is for that very reason that I think the most suitable theme for that "Sith" character would be Comanche by The Revels. Someone should dub that over the fight scenes in that episode.

Agreed. The teeth are the silly part. The rest isn't bad. Small tusks would have looked cool.

I find the grin interesting specially since Qimir seems to be leaning towards the crazy side. What i find clever is that the teeth are just metal conduit hoses that look like teeth.

As i said in the helmets thread, to me this seems to be made intentionally Uncanny to cause repulsiveness and its doing a great job

Yuuuup.

I find grins unsettling. I see that guy in the woods, the grin makes it so much worse. Some don’t find it intimidating. My GF doesn’t.

But if you drilled that helmet with holes my GF would walk away. Trypophobic

It's happening....

Please be good, please be good....
There is a remaster renaissance which is pretty crazy. At least for Playstation Plus Premium, I can also play Episode 1 (the PSone game), racer revenge, and Star Wars from the SNES I believe. The only problem is the Star Wars games during this early period suffered from "Nintendo difficulty" lol (games that look like they are for kids but are insanely difficult. Anyone who played Lion King knows what Im talking about).

KK being "fired" is just as hilarious an idea as Dave Filoni being the "savior" of Star Wars. Fans need to get past this idyllic thought that somehow Kennedy being let go is going to change anything. The rumors of George's return to SW and the thought that another creative will come to clean house and start fresh to redeem this franchise are simply pipe dreams. Reality needs to set in. It's been 12 years. It doesn't matter if you love or hate this new stuff. It's here to stay.

Time will be the ultimate judge.

If the helmet is a relic there could've been a piece covering the "smile" that was removed to expose it (it kind of looks like their was).

Not been watching Acolyte because honestly done with Star Wars while being managed by Disney but seeing the helmet, I dont think adding some horror to Star Wars is a bad idea. Its a relatively unexplored concept given the fact that fear plays a predominant role in Star Wars and there are quite a few "body horror" concepts in Star Wars. Taken another way, Vader is essentially a charred corpse arguably being forced to kept alive in a mechanical suit, Sidious is more humanoid than human with his malformed features after significant exposure to the Dark side, and legends have concepts like the Darth Sion, a decomposing corpse that is "living" through sheer will of hate. While things like zombies dont fit, body horror and the unnatural/uncanny could fit with Star Wars.

Agree. Honestly quality doesnt seem to be a concern for Disney so unless Kennedy is caught stealing from the company or some major sexual harassment suit, she isnt leaving until she is ready to "retire." Also surprised fans still think of Filoni as a possible "savior" given his terrible management and clear love for his OCs as well. Im guessing this is mostly because the current "young" Star Wars fans are people who grew up with Clone Wars which was made by Filoni (and likely also why "the jedi were actually evil" is trending despite that being a Filoni/Clone Wars concept only).

I think time has already judged the ST although the ultimate decider will be in maybe 5 to 6 more years when the kids who arguably "grew up" with the ST look back on it. While I do see some posts talking positively about how Rey "got their daughter into Star Wars," I do think this is honestly the minority. The popular thing was the MCU, not Star Wars, and the MCU had a far larger cultural impact than ST (cinematic universe, team up movies, careers made, etc.). Nostalgia of this era will focus on the MCU and in terms of storytelling, the ST was terrible. There likely will be comments looking favorably on TLJ for doing "something different" and nice cinematic shots but thats likely it.

I doubt the younger generations will have much nostalgia for anything because they have more choice than any previous generation in existence. Why cling to the past?
