Here's day 2! Wow! What a day! There was a lot of cool interviews. My highlights were, seeing Erin Kellyman for the first time at any Celebration. Neal Scanlan talking a bit about the new droid and aliens, those guys are really pushing the boundaries of in-camera practical effects. Alan Tudyk and his continuing fake rivalry with Anthony Daniels is always good. Warwick Davis naming all of his characters he's played in Star Wars, it's surprised me how many he's done! Seeing Ahmed Best take the stage, and the fans chanting Jar Jar! That was great!

But of all the stuff I watched today, the absolute best is Ashley Eckstein. Her incredible energy and enthusiasm are infectious! Seeing her strike Ahsoka poses with a pair of white lightsabers was so cool! And her panel, Sisters of the Force was incredible!

So I missed the droid and creature panel ?!?!

Was it yesterday!? Does anyone have the time stamp of where it was yesterday?

I had to baby sit my niece, she sat on the couch with me for over 5 hours watching the stream.. then she got cranky and wanted to play outside in the rain..

I didn’t think droids and creatures was until today... crap

I don't remember seeing that in the live stream. Was it maybe Friday? Only thing I saw was Neal on the Galaxy stage.

I saw that too and he mentions he just left the droid and creature panel

You got to be freak’n kidding me they didn’t stream it?!?!

Like I want to see the woman who made the force, or what ever the hell the name of the panel was.. BS....

Terrible....

The Dark Empire is one of my least favorite parts of Legends. However, with that said....... if Star Wars is to follow a mythopoetic structure then the story should loop back on itself to the beginning. And that beginning is TPM, with Anakin a who was conceived by unnatural means(most likely by Palpatine). So the Emperor should be back in ep 9 in some capacity.

Oh, and Luke did so much. Luke in TLJ could have come from straight from Joseph Campbell. What Luke does an the end on Crait, literally comes from this- "This is the way life is, and the hero is the one who can participate in it decently, in the way of nature, not in the way of personal rancor, revenge or anything of the kind."

Not to totally rehash it, but to me, Luke didn't act like Luke. Yes it's 40 years later, but most people don't change their core beliefs. For example, someone who is a police officer, firefighter, or soldier will probably always try to help someone. Luke cuts himself off and doesn't even make himself available to help his friends. That is completely not Jedi like. Then his first instinct is supposedly to kill his nephew when Ben is going to the Dark Side. Yet when he meets his father, who he NEVER knew and is a mass murderer, his first instinct is to save him. That doesn't add up. IMO Obi Wan's ghost should have shown up and smacked Luke upside the head for him wasting his time in the desert for 20 years!

I think it was today actually, I've been out all day, I just got back to my computer. Trying to do some catching up.

Crap, I don’t even know where I started watching it today... I did see the clone wars panel, then watch a different channel that only had the mandalorian panel

Both were really good!!

No, of course, he didn't act like Luke. That was kinda the point of the film. Luke goes a metaphorical "death" and "rebirth" that is common in the hero's journey. His story parallels many mythic heroes because of this.

"If you look at any classic hero's myth that is actually worth its salt, at the beginning of the hero's journey, like with King Arthur, he pulls the sword from the stone and he's ascendant — he has setbacks but he unites all the kingdoms. But then if you keep reading, when it deals with the hero's life as they get into middle-age and beyond, it always starts to get into darker places. And there's a reason for that: It's because myths are not made to sell action figures; myths are made to reflect the most difficult transitions we go through in life."―Rian Johnson

Most people don't change their core beliefs. But when that said person has gone through many traumatic experiences, like Luke, that does things to them. Go to a VA clinic and you'll see "TLJ Luke"

And technically the first time Luke "met" Vader, he "killed" him on the spot.

I'll put it here, since it's general Star Wars, rather than anything within the specific focus of the other threads. But after seeing a few vids and people gushing about Ashley Eckstein, I found myself shifting and grousing and, well... I'm just not a fan of her. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Ahsoka was obnoxious through too much of Clone Wars, but that could easily be the writing and directing, so I just shrug and move on in that respect. No, it's Her Universe. Don't get me wrong -- I love the notion of a clothing company by and for female Star Wars fans. Geekdom should not be the sole claim or bailiwick of any gender or orientation or whatever.

What rubs me the wrong way is the fact that all the shirts and dresses seem to be patterened and fitted for tweens and teens, and of a specific body type. I know too many women who have written in and/or asked her at conventions to please do "mens" cut shirts because they fit better, or things that go up to or past a regular L or XL or otherwise allows for boobs bigger than a C cup, and so on like that. These are women who feel excluded from this clothing line for women, and their requests for inclusion have gone unanswered for years. The company is her idea and she's the public face of it. She's the one who most has the power to add something like that, and she hasn't. And I'd like to know why.

All the woman clothing also come in a plus size options.

My daughter does not have the specific body type you are talking about and she has never had a problem getting proper fit.

They have a line of clothing called Our Universe which is men’s/unisex.

Hot Topic purchased Her Universe in 2016.

They have men's things to. And they come in all sorts of sizes.

I don't know if you've heard the Ashley's story about how she came to start Her Universe. But years ago, she was looking for Star Wars themed clothing, and she couldn't find anything for a women. It was all for men. So she decided to start a company that would fill that void.

She's really an awesome person. I don't know if you saw The Clone Wars panel. Warwick as he was bringing out the actors, told Ashley that young man sitting up on stage, was a really big Ahsoka fan. She immediately ran over for a hug and a selfie.

That's part of why I posted something. Mara Jade's Father, Joek3rr, thank you. That helps. And gives me a new direction to look. I knew HT sold Her Universe stuff... Hadn't realized they'd bought the marque. That explains a bit about the sizing, then. Now I'm mostly back to wishing she'd told the Clone Wars creative team where they could stick "Sky-Guy" and "Artooie". "You can write this ****, Dave -- but no one [should ever] say it." ;)

Any indication whether any of the Mandalorian preview stuff will be properly released?

And most of those soldiers will still help people and give their life to save someone. That doesn't change. Yes Luke had some students killed and blamed himself, but the guy faced down the most powerful Sith Lord in recent history so I don't think that would have shaken him the way it was portrayed on screen. Of the two, I think the Sith Lord would be more traumatic.

That was before he knew he was his father so that doesn't count.
