Let's Talk All Things Star Wars (Again)

Looks like Diamond Select filed for bankruptcy. Who will pick up their SW license? Mcfarlane maybe? Neca?

Aka: “This movie will suck.”
When your doing the Dawn of the Jedi? What lore are you being handcuffed to? Disney/Lucasfilm ejected all that lore in 2014. They only resurrect it up for some nostalgia fuel.

The only lore one could possibly be handcuffed too, would be the tenants of the Force. Light/dark, selflessness/selfishness, etc. If that's what he's wanting to be free of. Then, congratulations, like Colin Trevorrow, you don't get the Force or Star Wars.

I finally watched for the first time what I now call the double feature of disappointment aka Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. I don't want to say that I can't believe that they are continuing with the same director for the possible origin of the Jedi movie. But I understand what's going on now. If they do make the origin of the Jedi, I would be shocked if it's good considering the final Indiana Jones movie the director turned in. No way will the movie be near the Original Trilogy.

Anyway, I'm not letting that double feature upset me. I found the way to keep my excitement for Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I mentioned last year how I was going to get some Black Series figures. I have Mara Jade and the most recent R2-D2 on my desk. Plus, they have Luminara and Shaak Ti coming out this year. I know they are from the Prequels. But I had excitement for the Attack of the Clones release back in the day even though it didn't turn out well. Plus I have nostalgia of getting smaller versions of the figures and hoping that they would be cool in the movie. I assume that Hasbro will release Barriss as well this year or next.

Some other stuff, is in the works as well.

I believe we will see better fan fiction in the coming decade than anything from someone who openly claims they don't "do canon". 3 for 3 so far, each person that spoke the words then delivered disappointment.

Yeah but maybe Hasbro will buy Gentle Giant and their sw figures will improve again.
The Star Wars figures I have from Hasbro are pretty good. The faces could be better. The main issue I have with Hasbro figures are the prices and lack of extra hands. For example, their premium Black Series Mara only has the grip hands. Perhaps I'm too used to Hot Toys. But for the price Hasbro is charging, I tend to wait for the prices to drop, but when they only include one or two weapons. You would think they could make some relaxed hands or fists to break the overpriced action figure illusion.

One of the Star Wars things I'm looking forward to hopefully this year is the final Star Wars Return of the Jedi poster from Martin Ansin that should be released by Bottleneck Gallery. These are the ones released so far.

As someone who has yet to invest my time in the latest Star Wars television show, I have to wonder if this assessment of the current state of the franchise is the reason why?

Pop quiz:

Collectively, including The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, how many times did Luke Skywalker fire a blaster pistol?

People constantly blame Youtubers like they are the cause. Lucasfilm and Disney are the cause. The fans went from ticked off with The Last Jedi to now being apathetic of the entire franchise. I've heard that the Skeleton Crew show is decent, but I have zero desire to watch any new SW. I'm even on the fence of whether I will bother with Andor Season 2. I liked the show, but don't really care about new SW. I think they could make the greatest SW show/movie ever and people wouldn't watch because they've lost most of the fans.

Wait, I think I was misunderstood in my commentary.

I wasn’t blaming YouTubers, or the Critical Drinker in particular. I was just observing that maybe his view is correct and explains why I no longer invest any time in the new Disney Star Wars offerings and won’t even give them a chance anymore.

I think I've talked about this before but I've always thought Luke should've kept a blaster even after he became a Jedi (or on his to becoming one in ROTJ as it were). Still a handy weapon to have.

As far as Luke shooting a blaster, I'm assuming you only mean the "Han Solo" type blaster, yes? He shot the Stormtrooper blaster a whole lot in ANH on the Death Star.

It wasn't directed at you, just the new fans and media who say that the critics are the ones causing projects (tv, movie, or games) to fail. I don't think The Critical Drinker could stop a really good movie from succeeding. A lot of people online were proposing that The Acolyte would have succeeded if not for TCD, Nerdrotic, Geeks and Gamers, etc.
