So far I only have my 3D models/render. Would an actual printed prototype really sell the run?

I can't speak for others but when I am spending $300+ I want to see the product. I am sure they will look great but that is a lot of money to buy on faith. Also people have different opinions on what consitutes a sellable product and I would rather make a more informed decision than potentially have problems/misuderstandings later.

Totally understandable. For the sake of reassuring everyone I will go forward with producing a prototype.

It will be a combination of both. The finicky detail parts will most likely be SLA printed while the larger base parts will be casted.

Thanks! My concern about the 3-D printed aspect is I hate to sand and those parts usually have a lot of finish work to get them smooth but I also understand certain shapes/sizes don't lend themselves to casting easily.

I am looking forward to seeing it (and probably buying one).

My SLA printer produces parts that have virtually no print lines. You would be receiving a kit that is ready to be painted.
