Isnt it amazing what wearing an Ironman suit does to your state of mind?
When I would put mine on, even just made out of Paper, I felt like 'COME AND GET ME, BITCHES'
I felt like I could whoop anybody....

Hi Guys,

just before New Year i did some serious painting on my suit.
Here are some pictures taken by non-daylight. Colors look a bit odd but i really like the outcome. The glossy with the semi-gloss comes out nice.
I will do some weathering and maybe som flight damage. The back still needs some Alclad Airframe aluminum.

Hope you guys enjoy.

Very beautiful work! Looking forward to seeing the rest come together. I've been tinkering with a foam one (between other projects) for a while now and it's been a lot of fun. This, though, is by far the best one I've seen. The use of Sintra is brilliant.

Cheers!

Small update.
-Completed the other forearm and attached forearm to upper arm.
-also i designed a construction for the space for the inner elbow.
-and i fibreglassed the shoulder bells and brace for the neck. + two layers of bondo.

Yesterday i finished the other arm. Only on leg and boot to pep and the modeling is ready!
I also thinkered with the faceplate mechanism for the helmet.
Here is the sketch i made. (i made a PDF in illustrator wich is exactly scaled 1:1 for my Helmet) the helmet was a cast i bought from detour props, so i dont know if this works for other MK 42 / 43 helmets
MK43 Hinge - setup.jpghingesetup.png
I also made a test setup out of sintra and its seems like this will work just fine!
On the top of the faceplate i will add some metal plates and on the inside of the helmet i will place some magnets so that when the helmet is up, it wil stay in place.
The real hinges will be made out of 2mm Dibond
