Iron Man Mark VI MaskedRider Armor Kit Pics Updated 06/25/2013!! WIP

Re: Iron Man Mark VI MaskedRider Armor Kit WIP

Working on that.. I was supposed to have a friend stop by today to try it on for me.. he canceled to go "tubing".. I'd think people wouldn't pass up an offer at wearing a movie quality suit.. but I guess I'm wrong. My mannequin comes tomorrow afternoon so the top half of the suit will be on that.

Yeah, you'd think, right?! Doesn't he know how important this is?! LOL
When I eventually get mine, I'll be following in your and Steve's footsteps with a great thread posting pics and whatever anyone needs to see to help them make the choice to get such a fantastic work of art that are Leslee's suits! Can't wait to see more!

I'll also try to contribute as much as I can. I'm not very knowledgeable with these kinds of things. I placed my order for Leslee's MARK IV. Can't wait for it to arrive. By the way since you guys are covering tall people I guess I'll do the short peeps :) I'm only 5'6 165LBS. So there's going to be lots of growing gear.

Ugh what a letdown, mannequin came in this afternoon, I set it up tried to put a few pieces on it and the proportions are all wrong so the mannequin si going back :\ no iron man statue for me... ah well :(

Re: Iron Man Mark VI MaskedRider Armor Kit WIP

Did you ever try making your own mannequin.. Stealth has a tutorial on youtube.. i made one. its pretty easy and it's to your proportions. Just need a friend to duct tape you and cut it off from your body. Pretty fun bonding experience as well. =D

Re: Iron Man Mark VI MaskedRider Armor Kit WIP

Yeah I saw that and read about it as well, I'm sure my wife would love to run rolls of duct tape around me and just leave me in it :lol I'll have to try it out, it's better then nothing.

Hey there everyone, got amazing pictures to show of my friend Jon all suited up in the Mark VI, the only thing he is not wearing is the gloves due to the fact that they are too small for him and I. I had to have him wear it first as I am not 100% finished with it, if I had to put a percent on it I'd say 65%. Pictures are uploading now and will follow here in a few minutes!! Check back soon!!

Here's Jon all suited up, again minus the gloves, he's 6'4 and roughly 200 lbs the suit sits on him great, but I have higher hopes that it will sit better on me lol

And for good measure, us just messing around with the helmets!!

Hope you guys like it, I'm still working on it all diligently, working on the arc reactor and making a few adjustments with the joints and joint covers for further easy movement. Stay tuned and enjoy!!

Nice!
Did you use the strapping system that comes with it? It looks like everything will sit pretty good if you're putting it on for a troopong event ie. taking the time to put it on perfect, make it fit and sit perfect and all that.
Thanks for taking the time to do this! I look forward to more!!

Jay

Thanks, and no I did not use any of the body harness on the suit, the only strapping involved in those pics are the elastic webbing straps used on the shoulderpads... everything else is just sitting there. I plan on making my very own duct tape mannequin this weekend so once I get the pvc skeleton together and the mannequin taped and stuffed I'll toss it on that so I can continue busting out the work and getting a more precise fit... I think I may use some body belting for the arms though

Figured I'd post an update, haven't done much with the suit, we're a bit busy on the farm, however I did make a duct tape mannequin and I will be putting the skeleton together tonight... hopefully get the suit up and on that in the next few days. I do believe I have found all the resources I need to start work on my arc reactor and will be moving forward on that project this weekend.

Hey, just posting a bit of a bump to see if there's any more pictures and progress on the suit!
Hope all is well!

Jay

hey there sorry Jay been busy had some drama in my life, no pictures or progress really... need to finish the base for the duct tape mannequin so i can toss it on there... I've been working on the arc reactor insert as well. I am also trying to get ahold of a new neck piece and maybe thinking about starting some pepwork on the new gloves.. depends on if I really want to bite the bullet and blow $360 on a zabana set, which would probably be faster... who knows

hey buddy.. do you mind me putting up some pictures of my mark 4 from masked rider on here? I finally got part of it onto the mannequin i made..

Yeah sure go ahead, this thread is to help anyone who buys one of Leslee's suits get it together. I actually talked to Leslee and got permission to re-cast the neck piece on the suit as it is too tight for me, and I hope to start working on soon. Roll that beautiful footage lol.

Thanks.. i hope i can help with thread.. It looks like its going to be a tedious job trying to get everything to fit right... At least i have it standing up in my room for me to look at. Here's a couple of pictures of the mark 4 on my duct tape mannequin. The neck piece is really the most uncomfortable thing ever and its so long.. I also gotta find a way to make it more comfortable or to replace it with something else.. Let me know if there's anything i can help out with. Nothing is connected to each other... I haven't really tried to figure out the strap system yet.. Everything is just hanging on..

Great work on the stands guys, its not an easy thing to get right, A slimmer frame like the one above will work best, its all about getting the pivot points in the right place, the shoulders being one of the main ones, most mannequins aren't really the right width on the shoulders for these armours. I'll be building a stand for my War Machine soon and that's gunna need to be really wide.

Yeah, I'm putting in some arm extensions on my duct tape mannequin to help hold the arms and forearms on... start work on my Pepakura gloves this weekend... kind of want those done in a month and a mold made of them in case i screw up. I apologize for not having many updates.. I'm just in a really rough spot in my life at the moment.

Hey, don't worry, dude. And if you need to talk or just vent, feel free to shoot a PM. Everyone has something going on, some of us more than others - I'm no stranger to really rough times - and a sympathetic ear could work wonders.

Re: Iron Man Mark VI MaskedRider Armor Kit WIP

Phew, took a while read on all the good ideas. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has Masked Rider suit. Seeing how its so tedious just to put it on correctly. So far i bought this elevator shoe for a 5.5 inch growth (lol i'm short 5'7). But the hinge system for the leg is brilliant. I gotta go get me one of these fiber repair kit ASAP!!. Also the velcro for the abs is a wonderful idea also. You are solving so many of my problems!!

As for the chest piece, I bought TheRealStark and Surreal Studio unibeam for the chest piece. Only thing I have to do is to take off the original center piece Leslee put in there.

Post up some pictures!! That's the best part of assembly builds like this!!
I'll have a thread going like crazy the day I'm lucky enough to finally own a MaskedRider Iron Man. I'm probably going to ebay up my 1960 Cherry Sunburst Les Paul to get it!
