Indiana Jones 5 officially announced

Belloq will be back with an ultra advanced submarine fleet buried under the ice in Antartica.

Each submarine will be armed with nuclear missiles. All is not lost as the submarines don’t know which way is “up” and will be controlled by a central antenna tower that Indy must destroy.

Also, a new more powerful Nazi empire will have risen from the ashes of World War II and will trample the former Allied powers.

How did Belloq survive being burned by the wrath of God and his head exploding in Raiders? Don’t know.

Where did the new Nazi empire come from after their defeat in World War II? Don’t know. Maybe it will be covered in a comic book? Maybe it won’t?

How did Belloq get the money and manpower to build this fleet? Don’t know.

Does this sound so profoundly stupid that it couldn’t possibly be the basis for the new movie?

Think again....

And of course Belloq's granddaughter will be a greater archaeologist than both Indy and Henry Sr. despite never studying the discipline whatsoever. In fact she'll end up teaching Indy a thing or two about avoiding booby traps and translating dead languages. Oh, and she's a natural with a whip.

And Belloq will finally be defeated by using the power of not just one bullwhip—but by using the power of TWO bullwhips.

TWO bullwhips is the key, you see.

No, because if she kills him, she’ll become Belloq. So she uses the two bull whips to deflect the power of the Ark back into Belloq’s face, and then he dies. And then she and Shia LaBeouf kiss.

What’s worse is that there are probably people on here now Disney employee or otherwise, who think that’s a good plot for it...

I want to see them take Indy post Vietnam where Mutt was killed in the war and Indy is now kind of aimlessly going through the motions as a professor full time. Then they rip off UP!/Atlantis and have Indy receive word from a long list hero/mentor of his who claims to have found Atlantis. Indy goes against Marions urges otherwise and pursues the lost city. Eventually it culminates in him finding his old friend but walking away from the final destination/mcguffin/treasure, happy to have had one final adventure and leaving some mystery for himself in a rapidly changing and connected world.

obviously there is a lot missing and I’m mostly half serious about this idea, but I like the concept of Indy throwing himself into something a little recklessly only to see the value in the life he has left to live with Marion in the end.

Maybe Willie had a kid, and his grandkid finds Indy's journals. He can be Tom Holland. And after he kills old Mutt, he can go find the secret storage facility where the Ark is, and use it to both eradicate the Corona Virus and North Korea.

No need to kill Mutt. Just re-cast him. He was about 20 last time and that was like 12 years ago.

Or they could simply not involve him. Big deal. They've been inexplicably leaving out characters all over the Indy series.

BIG Pass on this one for me......
Ford looks good for someone who's almost 80 (and a lot mileage...) but it's going to be rough.
Mangold is brave to helm this, with Disney and its infinite amount of unaccountable marketing wannabe directors.

If Ford could do as well as Sean Connery did playing his father, it would be alright indeed. Sadly, I didn't really like Shia LaBuffoon as Indy's son so they'd need to find someone else...someone pithy. I'm thinking a comedy so Jim Carrey. :D

I can see it now....

"Allllriggghhty then! Throw another shrimp on the Barbie!" - Carrey
"And I thought the Nazis were bad...." -Ford
