Hey

Over the past few months, I have noticed a problem with the board, regardless of where I am trying to use it (out of state, when I was at work, at home, on cell phone, etc).

It just suddenly stops working, and takes a good 2-3 mins to refresh/reload a page, or just submit a reply, edit a post, etc. No real specific time, just boom, it's down and I am wondering what happened.

When it slows down like that I load things like ebay, paypal, misc other forums I read, and everything is awesome. I don't lose connections for mail or usenet stuff, just this board.

I thought it was me, but it's been catching me everywhere I go, and I dunno if it's cause I am paranoid, or my GIANT HUGE EGO post count is lagging up the lines or what :lol .

I did do a trace route tonight after running into more trouble, and here it is :
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>tracert www.therpf.com

Again, this is on a daily basis pretty much, but it seems to peter out around that secureserver.net .

Since I don't see umpteen jillion threads complaining about I think it might be me (regardless of paranoia :lol ), or maybe a setting in my account, but it's hitting me across different browsers, different pc's, etc.

Am I just horribly unlucky with this?

Thanks
Chris

It happens to a lot of people I believe. I know I see it randomly. My Firefox will just be waiting...waiting...etc. I'll usually just close the tab and try again in a minute or two and it will be back working. I seem to remember a post on the matter a while back but not sure if it was pertaining to this specific issue.

You're not alone on this. Every now and then it just slows down for no reason so I just go to another site for a couple of minutes then come back and it's working fine.

I usually blame TWC for it. Then I blame TWC for a lot of things.

Unfortunately in this case doing a trace route will not help diagnose the problem. Even when things are working perfectly, you will not get a trace route past any of the secureserve.net servers. Do a trace route when everything is working fine and you will see that it always fails at those servers.

Poop.

Still acting up on a daily basis now (did it a few seconds ago when I was replying to a PM), but no idea what I can do to diagnose/help the problem.

Guess I just learn to live with it :)

I have problems too. I can be reading a thread and when I go back to the main forum (any main forum) it just hangs on the reload. Very frustrating.
