About the letter, as I said, I identified each word except two which I think are about a creature or about a spell. This is what I got so far, after I will start searching for the font.

I'm sorry but since the original of this letter is in my possession you are indeed stepping on someones too. I already have an appointment with a company who is willing to replicate this letter, as well as the second letter Hermione Granger recieves with the Owlpost. Yes she got 2 letters indeed. And that second letter was not seen in full picture in the movie.
And that way everybody can have a direct 1:1 replica of the original letters. So that way handwriting, paper, sizes and everything else is exactly the same as the originals.

I will not continue on this then. Just so you know, I do not own any wand replica. I am an unemployed full time student and I live in Malta, an island in the center of the mediterranean, shipping costs alone would be too much. I thought to do it because I have never done a paper prop, and this seemed easy enough. It would not have been a full replica. Sorry for the inconvinience. I will not continue.

I can provide you with a pointing hand easy enough, there are several different versions though. Give me an idea of which one you would like.

Hi! Thank you very much for sharing the link with me. If I had known that there were so many version of the book already I wouldn't have started... :/ But now that I did, I won't give up or change the subject. It may be even funny to have different versions available though. :)
 
I may try and do the letter that came with the invisibility cloak. I have never made something like this so please bear with me...

So I didn't want to simple snatch some wonderful items, so I'll be giving you crappy, mostly empty potion lables which I scanned. I reality they look better, some of the tea staining does not show. Grab your sharpies/fountain pens, search online for a nice font, write what you want, and then trace/copy it by hand. Hopefully the image will show. I totally mangled that H, but one line did not come good, so of course I have this habit to TRY and smooth it, it never wants to cooperate, so I ended up shading it. One day, I'll do another better version.

That's the problem with props, the cost a lot! like most geeky collecibles really. I try to do them myself when possible. even when we go to claire's and such, I always tell my friend, "I could easily do that you only need to do this this and this" I'm a firm diyer in most chases. I even do my own beauty products/ natural medicine alternatives sometimes (most of us don't know the stuff there's in the products we consume) and it's more satisfying to say "I did that!"

Of course, I can't do most of the stuff that Hinky, barney and the rest of the wonderful people here do. I would like to though:/

Good luck with that, and you should still try it! that way there will be more versions and you have to start somewhere to learn. I'm trying my first paper prop as well.
 
@mewmar: If it's for your own personal collection without intent to resell, then go for it. No need to ask permission to recreate something for your own personal enjoyment. BTW, do you happen to know board member alancastillo1? I ask because he is from Malta as well!

It is for myself, and maybe I'll share it for FREE if it comes good. that was my intent, I don't know what to do now. I don't know anyone outside of this thread, will go and check him out. I know a Castillo from comicon and MICA (maltese islands cosplay assosiation) they may be related maybe. thanks for the heads up. It's interesting getting to know people interested in the same stuff as you, especially if they are nearby and can give you advice.
 
i was curious what became of the flesh eating slug repellant label, i know a box label was posted but i wanted to see what happened with the screen accurate one being worked on
