Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

actually you need to take your attempts at selling stuff out of the "FREE" paper props thread and to the For Sale area just to be fair...

If people are using screen captures of the movies to create whatever they want and post them for free use here. Just because you bought the screen used item doesnt mean people have to stop making replicas just because you decided you want to make replicas for a profit... If you make it well and it looks just like the original people will still buy your version, I certainly would depending on photos of the final result. Only way the would be stepping on you is if they bought one of yours then made copies of it. People making their own using the movie for reference and pictures of them (unless you took those pictures and told them not to use them..) and using their own time and effort to work from scratch are within the point of this thread...

That said if they sell it using your references then you should be upset :) I would be too , but if they are making it for themselves I dont see the reason for them to stop. Just make sure if you see them selling it to call em out.

Sorry but as far as I know he didn't used the screen capture from the movie, but the picture I've placed on the thread. Which copyright is mine and nobody should copy that in anyway. I moved the thread to the for sale. So problem solved I guess.

bfd, that is fantastic! just like everything else you make! :) I hate to be the one to point out errors, it makes me feel bad, but the date on that is 1999, but Amelia Bones was killed prior to the beginning of HBP which was 1996. I have to be the biggest nerd ever in order to be the one to point that out

I didn't check when she died before I used her on my sample but you are right she did die in 1996.

The last head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement I could find was Yaxley who was ousted in 98. So who was the department head after that??

Hey does anyone have a good printable nimbus 2000 logo? I want to make a sticker for my truck. It turns out that my truck is nimbus grey so I thought it would be cool.

Hermoine comes to mind. She did join the magical law enforcement.

"And Hermione, Well I think that she's now pretty high up in the Department for Magical Law Enforcement. I would imagine that her brainpower and her knowledge of how the Dark Arts operate would really give her a sound grounding. They made a new world."

I saw on HP Wiki that Hermione did become Department Head eventually but I don't think it was right after Yaxley. She spent some time in the Magical Creatures department. (There I go again, talking about this stuff like it was real...:lol...it's not real right???)

does anyone have a nice, clean, hi-res image of the ministry of magic logo?

Hope these help :)

thanks :)

did you find that sticker online?

No I found a guy making a broom and someone posted a logo, I did very very little cleaning on the logo then sent it to a cutting machine I have and ran off a couple. Then i took this picture and posted it (lol) took me about 2 hours to find a decent logo and about 3 minutes to make 5 of them

Im gonna remove the dealer sticker off the back of my truck and put this sticker on and in a couple other places. I got a new truck and found out the color is Numbus grey (haha) I thought it would be neat. Its a Honda Ridgeline. I'll post a picture as soon as I get that dealer crap off of it.

I agree with Wolfie. You have the right to make anything you want for personal use. And even the fact that you own the original doesn't give you the right to reproduce it as you see fit. I buy an original Van Gogh, I can't start making prints and selling them. The image still belongs to the Van Gogh estate unless I purchased manufacturing/reproduction rights. And in this case I am pretty sure Warner Brothers didn't give anyone those. A COA doesn't grant that.

Definitely true. We're able to share these custom replicas of Potter props for our own amusement, and that's why we're sharing them free for each person to use, at least in this thread. I would imagine if any of these were to be sold (not legal to do so anyway), the price would just cover labor and materials. We can credit each other for the time and talent we put into the replicas, but we certainly do not own any of the rights and cannot tell anyone else what they may or may not do with them.

I think that's what's fun about this thread; finding ways to reproduce our favorite items from these films, and then giving everyone a chance to make something that might bring them closer to the Potter universe.

Clever and unique idea evil. I'm sure it'll turn a few heads...:lol

What kind of glue do you use to stick a printed book cover on an old book? and do you print it on normal paper or textured?

The price of the replica will be no more than 50 dollars. Which should not be to expensive since the replica wands are also around 35/50 dollars.
Next time if you want to replicate something which is owned by another person. Contact that person first.

Sorry, but that IS very expensive for a piece of paper. people share things here for free, not to make profit, but to be grenourus. there are many many free props here, computer files rather than physical objects. not everyone wants to pay shipping when they can get a computer file and print it out!

permission should probabably have been asked before doing a replica though.

you are free to charge for it if you wish, just not on this thread please!
