Hi all, both me & my wife have been working like mad to complete our costumes in time for Halloween. We're going as fellow Death Eater's Bellatrix Lestrange and Lucius Malfoy.
For the clothing it's been pretty challenging and we've used a combination of leather work and sewing to build Lucius's Jerkin and each other's cloaks.
All the leather work we built from scratch with the help of on-hand tutorials from Tandy Leather, they were great in helping us fashion what we were after and it really bring it up a notch with all the handmade riveting.
The masks we made a mould of two existing masks in Alginate, cast them in plaster and then used clay to build up the features for moulding in Worbla Thermal Plastic.
Sanding we did mostly with the dremel and a lot of time, both wore masks while doing it as you tend to throw a lot of dust in the air.
After that it was primer and the laying the detail work, we used bra straps and hot glue to secure the masks to our heads, we'll probably line the inside with felt to make it more long-term wearable.
Coming along well, looking forward to posting the final photos.
