Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Cornish Pixie Display

My wife is a big Harry Potter fan and I like to surprise her with more stuff every birthday, Christmas etc.

Was browsing Etsy one day and happened upon an old Victorian birdcage and thought that it's style resembled the one from the film. Ours came with a carrying loop which we suspect was taken away from the screen used one:

A quick search of pixies and purchased a few from The Noble Collection:

Fitting in nicely with the rest of the Harry Potter stuff:

Love it! The dynamic of the display is fantastic.

My guy is pretty lonely.
It definitely looks better with a bunch of them. View attachment 1898947

Where did you get your large figures? The Monster book especially. The realism is striking.
Thank you, your display is pretty good also and the cage is brilliant! It's surprising how these things build up! Our Monster book was a special edition release from Sideshow Collectables, Dobby was from The Bradford Exchange and our Niffler was a a special commission handmade by an artist on Etsy. We recently acquired a Mermaid wrap for a door panel similar to yours but we're looking to getting another for our new bathrooms window. Would be better if we could use the Geminio charm though!

He definitely needs some company! Ha! My son is an avid HP fan too; he'd love to have half of what your wife has! Great collection.

Haha! Very cool.

Most of my collection is DIY. I just printed out the window image but the door had obscured glass and happened to be perfect dimensions for the design.

Look forward to seeing your new windows!

I didn't make the birdcage, though. (random Amazon find)
But I forged the hook and it came out quite nice I thought.

If I were a guest I'd be so tempted to open that door!
You would be confronted with lots of Harry Potter bedroom memorabilia like pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns, not to mention all the little makeup bags, jewelry etc. Fortunately we live around half an hours drive from Alnwick Castle, which served as a location for Hogwarts for the first 2 films. When the children were younger we used to visit often.

That's cool. A Hogwarts' native. :)

A while ago I photoshopped a screen cap from PoA with that poster. But I'm still thinking about how to do the frame. I got some good shots of it at the Tokyo Tour recently so I might try to 3d print a scaled one for my door sometime in the future. (One of so many things on the list of future projects!)

That looks great! There is someone on this site who's done a Sirius Black animated wanted poster which comes to life if you're within proximity. I'm sorry I can't provide a link as I'm struggling to navigate with my phone. They did kindly provide a download which would probably go into an SD card in a digital photo frame so worth a look!

It’s good. I’ve got it on my drive already.
(For another frame I haven’t made yet!)
