So in other news Disney/Marvel turning Captain America into a jew hating nazi might take some of the rage away from the GB movie as it's far worse than anything GB could do. It seems like media companies love doing things to spark controversy even when it's hurting them as Marvel is going to find out.

Misery and Annie Wilkes are indicative of the fact that strong fan followings were always around. The internet upped the ante but fans always had expectations and always loudly voiced their opinions of those expectations weren't met.
And going back to A.C.Doyle also shows what fandom can do. But contrary to the articles conclusion I do not think it today is really different from way back when.

AND !!! I just rewatched the second trailer. It´s now clear that the secretary is going to play a bigger role. Like Dana, Louis and Janine all rolled into one.
It´s sad, after watching the trailer a few more times I kind of WANT to like that movie. Maybe it´s the use of the original theme song that makes me a bit emotional, but I REALLY want to like that movie. Okay, I will give it a chance. On video. Or vod. Or stream. Don´t cross the streams! Oh wait, where was I?

I only read the first half so far, but a good point and an article that kind of reads normal. seems they are out there, but they get lost in the shuffle.
I would like to ask the author 'why even make fun of james at all?' no one deserves that kind of hate for making a joke post, but i'm curious now as to what the post was.
was it akin to the weirdness patton oswalt wrote, or something worse?
I don't get why patton would make that tweet, and THEN after the responses claims he likes james and take it down. makes no sense. I Was looking forward to patton on the new MST3K, despite never having heard of him before. after that post, not so much now and when i view those episodes,it'll be in the back of my mind.
either you respect the mans opinion to watch the movie, or you don't. but I guess making the joke post was your 'need to take a break' moment realization. It's still hard to believe how one video that makes a simple statement gets the man death threats from internet crazies.
I came across this take a break moment too a few dozen pages back...but there are so many posts on my FB news feed, that it's hard to step away ;o)...even when you know you should.
It's a month left. all that needs to be said has been said...but in an OCD world, it's kind of soothing to repeat it in an odd way ;o)

You can get it in the boxes still at certain grocery stores. Also amazon had 2 12 packs in stock this afternoon. I should have bought those too but I needed to find 5 items for their free pantry box shipping promo and was a little too slow. Also amazon seems to keep getting more stock. I Bought 4 12 Packs yesterday then they ran out a little later, then today I checked and they had 2 in stock so i think they will keep getting shipments every day or 2.

but isn't Columbia Pictures now defunct, ever since Sony gobbled it up? or used as an honory title thing? I don't see many new movies these days, but i was wondering if they are using it for nostalgia purposes. assuming this billboard will be everywhere soon and not just on the sony lot.

According to some sources, Columbia Pictures and their sister company TriStar are still around, both are active, and Sony Pictures Entertainment is their parent company since 1989.

I kind of thought that sony pictures is the 'new' columbia entertainment since it got bought out.

A) know who any of these flavor of the month groups are (like that weirdo that did the bay turtles theme song that tried to call itself music)
b) like any of the songs. Most commercially released stuff 2000 on that i've heard is a bore fest that doesn't last longer than a year in popularity.
anything fun or original that DOES stick out gets buried quick, or stuff that I like, like mambo #5, gets over played so much you get bored of it fast.
you know, also I was wondering. at first I thought their being based in a chinese restaurant was a nod to the 'chew your food' scene in the first movie. But, maybe that was their way of trying to get into the chinese market, since I think ghost movies are banned?

I can't help but wonder if they are trolling us with some of these song choices at this point too ;o). if people hated the trailer, reaction to the song choices seems to be a little more universally hated in the places I look ;o).
Heh, I can't get away from this stuff. I take a trip to toys r us just to see what's out there and to get out of the house a bit. what's the FIRST thing I hear when I walk in? two employees talking a bout figbusters. Both ends of the age spectrum. one male kid probably in his early 20s. one older lady probably closer to 50. and it's the goil that says ' I HATE those Chick Ghostbusters' as the FIRST thing I Hear when I walk into the store ;o).
I guess she's a sexist trump voter too ;o)
also, so far no store in NJ, K mart or toys r us is stocking any of this supposed ghostbusters mercandise. I can't even place a he-man toy next to it for a goofy photo op if i wanted too ;o)..
