I sincerely have nothing against the cast. They are all very talented people who have made me laugh before. I think some people are being very rude in the attacks on their physical appearances, as well as some sexist and racist comments which are completely uncalled for.
I am not a fan of this film, based on every trailer that I have seen released so far. I am a huge fan of the original film and a fan of it's sequel, which while not the best holds up pretty well against the original. My problem with this new film is that it could have been an actual sequel and it should have been. On top of it all it rips from the original what it wishes, but then spins it in a different way, BUT doesn't want to acknowledge the first films ever happened by being a reboot., but it feels the need to keep reminding people "Hey, hey, that's a reference to the originals, cool huh? look what we did? " All it does for me is make me miss the original team more as well as make me even more disappointed this isn't an actual sequel. Also the jokes seem so incredibly forced. It all has a very "LOOK IT'S FUNNY LAUGH!" feel to it. Each trailer released just tries so hard to show the funny, but to me and my taste, the funny isn't there. Again, I respect those involved in the production of this film, but I'm just not feeling anything but disappointed and will pass on seeing this just as James Rolfe is as well. It is NOT a crime to judge a film based on it's trailers alone. People do it all the time when they go to see films. They watch the trailers before the main feature starts and think "Hey, that looks good" or "Hey, eh, that's not for me." There is nothing wrong with that, but for some reason when it comes to this film and the trailers for it, people want to make those that go "That's not for me" out to be horrible villains. People that have based from the trailers that the movie looks bad and that they don't want to see it are made out to be sexist haters. I'm sure there are those out there whose main issue with the film is the feminine angle being taken by the movie, but to lump everyone in with that group simply because they don't want to see it or haven't been impressed by this film is ridiculous and outrageous.
Again, all respect to the cast and crew of this film, it just isn't my thing.
