GHOSTBUSTERS Pre-Release - film discussion only, no social commentary please!

I had some time to kill this week, so I whipped this up this throwback poster! I have an original, beat up folded GB poster that's been residing in my office for about a decade-- one of my favs!

I was just talking on another forum about the film Blues Brothers and I got to going back over some old GB stuff and looking at the original idea Dan had with "Ghost Smashers" I have to wonder....maybe,just maybe the world is ready for Ghost Smashers,if you think about it it was never made as it was just too weird and too expensive but now it'd probably be just another movie and the cost wouldn't be so bad as the tech is better.

Just an idea,I kinda like the weirdness of the concept GB.

I sincerely have nothing against the cast. They are all very talented people who have made me laugh before. I think some people are being very rude in the attacks on their physical appearances, as well as some sexist and racist comments which are completely uncalled for.

I am not a fan of this film, based on every trailer that I have seen released so far. I am a huge fan of the original film and a fan of it's sequel, which while not the best holds up pretty well against the original. My problem with this new film is that it could have been an actual sequel and it should have been. On top of it all it rips from the original what it wishes, but then spins it in a different way, BUT doesn't want to acknowledge the first films ever happened by being a reboot., but it feels the need to keep reminding people "Hey, hey, that's a reference to the originals, cool huh? look what we did? " All it does for me is make me miss the original team more as well as make me even more disappointed this isn't an actual sequel. Also the jokes seem so incredibly forced. It all has a very "LOOK IT'S FUNNY LAUGH!" feel to it. Each trailer released just tries so hard to show the funny, but to me and my taste, the funny isn't there. Again, I respect those involved in the production of this film, but I'm just not feeling anything but disappointed and will pass on seeing this just as James Rolfe is as well. It is NOT a crime to judge a film based on it's trailers alone. People do it all the time when they go to see films. They watch the trailers before the main feature starts and think "Hey, that looks good" or "Hey, eh, that's not for me." There is nothing wrong with that, but for some reason when it comes to this film and the trailers for it, people want to make those that go "That's not for me" out to be horrible villains. People that have based from the trailers that the movie looks bad and that they don't want to see it are made out to be sexist haters. I'm sure there are those out there whose main issue with the film is the feminine angle being taken by the movie, but to lump everyone in with that group simply because they don't want to see it or haven't been impressed by this film is ridiculous and outrageous.

Again, all respect to the cast and crew of this film, it just isn't my thing.

I bought 4 cases on amazon this past Tuesday. Then on Wednesday they had more in stock and I could have bought 2 more cases but did not, wish I would have and I should have bought 8 in stead of 4 cases when I ordered on tuesday. To find the boxes in stores, the ecto cooler website only lists a handful of grocery stores that it is being sold in. Just keep the Web page on amazon for ecto cooler open and refresh multiple times a day until it shows up in stock. If you do that you will be able to score some of this sweet nectar of the ghosts.

New Japanese/International Trailer

At least this trailer could make people curious about what is going in. Just glimpses of what happens, late in - early out, catchy tune, well cut, and ... short.

I don't know... all these ghosts looks too cartoonish, if you know what I mean. Just look at the dragonlike ghost from the other trailer and the boss ghost here at the end (priority his face). How should I be afraid of something that clearly doesn't look real? I have to compare this film to the old ones. And when I'm thinking about the library ghost, or Slimers "attack" on Venkman, ... or the terror dogs. Dude, I s*it my pants back then.

just once one of these articles will be brave enough and say 'Yes, I DO have a problem with the all female cast'.

When I See women say it with no problem, men can say it too ;o)....especially since no one is afraid to say they have a problem with thor being the secretary ;o).

well, we've gotten past bay turtles 2 (and with any luck, thanks to the lackluster open, there won't be a part 3). we've only got one month left to go and hopefully the madness will end.

wait...what's this?

Thundercats being rebooted, with Angelina Jolie as Cheetara?

Knight Rider with Justin Beiber as the voice of KITT?

Both with two year production schedules one right after the other?

why do i torture myself? Because in this world it could happen ;o)..

Not sure which of the many trailers this is from..but oh god, I guess the musical number IS in the movie still. Someone thinks this is all the soldiers dancing.
;o).

Bruce Lee? Fist of Fury? Great Movie... But... now I'm even more confused. ;)

They time travel to a decade before the 1984 Ghostbusters just to make sure there's never any JJ Abrams "Star Trek" style retcon allowing the original team to exist first in this universe. If Stantz and Spengler should decide to hunt ghosts, it will have been because they saw these ladies on the news. :(
