Oh yeah, didn't even notice that.Ecto-1 got an extended red stripe. It was originally just red on the tailfin.
We already know that they tweaked the packs. They actually have a functional cyclotron that spins (whereas in the originals and the second film, they were lit up using bulbs that would just light in a sequence). That longer red stripe is a slight visual change in the prop hardware just for the sake of it. It might be a IP (copyright) move like with the newer Star Wars hardware.
Disney was clearly changing SW stuff in the sequels. Rey's home planet was exactly like Tatooine except it technically wasn't Tatooine. The Falcon's squared-off dish, C-3PO's red arm, the different X-wing model, the bigger AT-ATs, the stormtrooper helmets, etc. Almost everything was altered just enough to differentiate it but not enough to distract the average viewer who isn't a SW nerd.
Time to start looking at the rest of the new Ghostbusters prop hardware. If they intentionally altered Ecto-1 then they probably tweaked the uniforms & proton pack & trap too. Maybe even the firehouse exterior.
The Falcon's squared-off dish,
Yeah, that is true, for both. Remember seeing the Falcon in the trailer, and first thing I noticed was the rectangle dish, which made sense, although I still like the round one better. If they hadn't used a different dish shape, you would have heard the complaining that Abrams forgot that the Falcon lost its dish in the second Death Star from here to Tatooine.
I really like the extended stripe on the Ecto-1, gives a little more color to the front of the car without going overboard like the Ecto-1A
We’d didn’t need the 2016 film either. But I don’t hear you complaining about that.…we didn’t need afterlife and we don’t need this
