Surprised at the hostility on the Pixar forums with the copyright argument against the builders group. Obviously they have no concept of robotics fans and those that love to try to duplicate movie bots.
I hope my explaination helped calm things down.

Technically your explanation was incorrect. You can't paint copyrighted items and sell them no matter if they are mechanically reproduced or not.
Certain studios will let you get away with it, but technically it is against the law.

Great job her, ohioAstromech. Kudos. I look forward towatching your progress as it happens. Say, is the Blueprints for the fan-made Wall-E being distributed over at the Yahoo Group? Or is there a blueprint that you created yourself and are working from?
