Full Scale WALL-E Build

Hi OhioAstromech,

I am looking forward to more pics of your build, and read anything you have to say about the build process.

Thanks,

Surprised at the hostility on the Pixar forums with the copyright argument against the builders group. Obviously they have no concept of robotics fans and those that love to try to duplicate movie bots.

I hope my explaination helped calm things down.

We are fans of SciFi and I think we will give a good impression.

PS. Stand By for Update photos. :D

Technically your explanation was incorrect. You can't paint copyrighted items and sell them no matter if they are mechanically reproduced or not.
Certain studios will let you get away with it, but technically it is against the law.

I do agree with you but that explanation was not mine to begin with and it was the only thing I could think of at the time, it seems to have at least worked in this case.

I am no lawyer and don't claim to be one.

To get back on topic; I have rounded the corners on the lower section on the front of the body and will be moving to the back half later tonight.

Stay tuned.

Great job her, ohioAstromech. Kudos. I look forward towatching your progress as it happens. Say, is the Blueprints for the fan-made Wall-E being distributed over at the Yahoo Group? Or is there a blueprint that you created yourself and are working from?

The drawings are being added to the Yahoo Group and they are based on my CAD files I made from screen captures.

As I have built this body I found issues that need changing on the file and I will have to update the drawings later.

Most reports say fall (in time for christmas no doubt) - not soon enough!

And again, Scot - amazing work.

I'm sorry its taken so long to add an update to this thread but here it is.

I added the bumpers to the front corners and the front panel thanks to Michael Davis.
The panel turned out 1000 times better than I thought it would.

I think he's looking better every day.
This week I will be working on the rear bumpers and finishing the rear detail.
Hopefully I will be priming and painting within the next week or two.
