E-Wing build of an F&M kit. Repaint

Just wanted to share this. I had this for sale for about a year. It originally was orange to make it look like a Cloud City ship, but I think that color scheme didn’t make it attractive to people who like x-wings. So I brought it back closer to the style that is on e-wings in Star Wars series recently.

And instead of a gun over the cockpit area, I put a droid, as they do in the new versions recently.

This is a built F&M kit of an E-Wing with some extra modifications to make it “go faster”. I didn’t like the square rear end of the original design and the square side “intake” areas, so I modified them both with styrene parts to be at an angle.

The engine lights turn on when you twist the top of the lamp clockwise. I turn them counter-clockwise to turn them off. They are just keychain flashlights. The whole flashlight part is just set in a cavity in the engines. No glue.

The scale is 1/24, which is the same as studio scale x-wing kits in resin. It’s 18 inches long. The pilot has clear yellow goggles on his helmet.

Great build, I also never understood the "gun over the cockpit" idea either.

As to why the E-wing is less popular, I can only guess. For me the thrusters look wrong, for two reasons... first because you look at the design and automatically think "X-wing", and second from a technical perspective, the the thrusters just seem too far away from the main body for all the piping and everything else that they should need to fit in the wing. Looks a little forced... (no pun intended) ;)

But that is just the downfall of the design, your build looks excellent!
