Flash Gordon Mings Guards

Has anybody ever made a Red Ming Guard (flash gordon 1980) costume? I am a huge fan of the film, and wanna get around to making one of these, and I'd appreciate some pointers. Here is a pic, poor quality, of the set up I am going for. Thanks--

God I would love one of these! There are some really cool props in that movie, like Prince Vultans club, a Hawkmans rifle, Ming's ring, Klytus's mask, etc...
