The true replica of the Grail diary Hero prop

This is what was in the book I got. I’m guessing for production, maybe they couldn’t use an exact one so it was a combination of the two.

Nice Matt. I have these from before. Working in the movie business myself, I know that some propmaster like to put their own spin on things they make. So I guess this was the case. I cannot think of anything else because there is no point of making these custom. I can only think of copyright issues but I dunno. I have seen a few camelpacks from different diaries and they all are identical.

Those look great Victorc! Great diary too! You should showcase it. I'd cut the silver dollar in half to give it an even more accurate design. But guessing this is original so I get why no cutting is involved. Also, yeah, I have real Lary ticket myself and its super thin.

I also found that silver dollar but still nothing in the mail box..
I found a very close number too.
About the french note, where are the sources for the number?
I read somewhere it would be a X41XXX serie from 1933, so I bought two, very close number

Regarding the camel pack, I have my idea.
Take a look at this 80's camel pack, you have a bar code on one side.
You can see "camel" on bottom, instead of "camel 20's"
My guess is the production made a mod to hide the bar code, that's why the side is duplicated, and that can explain why it's not the case on original packs, whatever era they were made.
So my guess, to be historically accurate, is to use the same type as I one I found.

Thank you very much Holt, it’s a Serenity diary and I aged it. About the franc serial number, I saw a picture of the reproduction used, and I though was XO series, but I can’t find the picture, The only one I found is more like a BC or DC, so maybe I made a mistake about it.

Well it looks like it’s this pack and they just covered the Surgeon General warning and the bar code because and if I’m not mistaken, the grail diary obviously wasn’t made in the US and non US packs of Camels wouldn’t have the SG warning or bar codes.

Thanks guys for the kind comments! Appreciated. I replied to your PM mhariush. (y)

Oh, and keep up the good camel pack work! Fun to see!

Holt that diary is magnificent! Can't believe the level of detail. This amazing prop still inspires so many people. When I was making my diary the search for inserts and pages was so intense. Then I would find a forgotten thread or old link and there would be treasure at the end. Obviously you're on an entirely different level to me and it's so impressive. I may go back one day and hand write a diary. But just being a part of the whole family of enthusiasts was really wonderful. I'm a creative person so the making part was enjoyable. Having to learn so many skills to get to the end prop. Which is so inaccurate but it's mine and I enjoyed doing it. Truly outstanding work Holt ! Keep posting!

Thanks guys. Much appreciated!

As much as I love this diary I have decided to make another one! I just have to scratch this itch that I have! I know Magnoli told me to retire but I still got a few years left in me budy!! lol.

So basicley, I am going to do one more but this time around I will take creative freedom when it comes to aging the hero prop. As much as I love doing the aging on the hero prop its still restricted which is why I use SO MUCH time on aging it. Its really nitcpicky work. So I wanna do one more book in freestyle aging. I have mastered the real aging technique and I know I can do this. Im gonna give it the illusion as if they came of the same prodution line.

But first I will showcase something else. Keep your eyes peeled for that. 1 or 2 weeks and I got an update.
