FINISHED (see pg 21) WIP - BTTF - Nike Air Mag

I meant movie but i found this image you posted and you mentioned about being close to the movie mag but I just took a closer look it seems photoshopped is it ? it looks like the real pair
ah ok, yes, it is a photoshoped simulation to see what would look this other pattern i made and see the grey fabric... At this moment i didn't detach the upper of my HCs from the sole. The next model i'll make woill be more like the movie props if i find a good fabric.

I think you have done good.
thanks man ;)

some new improvements on the sole : lights off (right = How HC lights look like before / left = after some mods)

I think i'll stay with this HC lights with this little mod on my projects :)

These are cool. What are these?

That's an Air Flight Lite Mid. I have a few colourways but not the grey/white one pictured there. Mine are still packed away in a box somewhere. They're very comfy though. The red/grey and white/red colourways were available in Foot Locker last year. Never saw the grey/white there though.

Here is a comparaison of the Mod I made on the standard HC lights :

• Unmoded HC lights OFF (No GITD)

• Unmoded HC lights ON

• Moded lights OFF (GITD ON - thanks @cavx)

• Moded lights ON
Mod Light ON 2.jpg

And a video to get a better idea of another surpising thing that happens with GITD... (you should pause the video when I show this)

here you can switch between the HC mod and the unmoded one to see how it changes everything :

Can't sleep tonight -_- so I've recorded my first result on the beginning of my next Mags...

It is a Work In Progress and the shoe I'm using is my Testing shoe.
I'll run some more tests on making this for the other laces somedays... maybe "in two weeks" :lol

Thanks guys, i have to work on something to make it as good as in the movie but the basics are here !
Otherwise, on another subject I can confirm the phenomenon that i had observed yesterday about the GITD and led lights mod.
the led are actually recharging the iTD D shape in the sole :)

see by your selves : lights on 3 minutes :

Lights off in daylight condition :

It is even better in the shades area of the house ! @cavx, i think I'm gonna re-order some of these from you somedays ;)

edit : alomost forgot to mention that i've modified the sole to get a better slim toe effect...

are you going to do electronic version with lights?
I don't think so... I want to keep it as simple as possible because I have to put the mecanism somewhere in the sole with the existing electronics :/ .
And electronics is not really my thing.

Anyway, If I manage to get this working as I imagined it, I'll rename this system "Eff U Nick Power Laces System".
Just for the non release of the power lace air Mag for the large public (even without it, a simple official release at afordable price of the shoe would be cool...)
and the messed up Power Laces they've made is bull**** compare to the movie or what I did in like 30 minutes :rolleyes (and a long time thinking and conceptualising it).

This BTTF Day I was seriosly pissed off with them and I swore that i'll never buy a Shoe from them.

that should not be a problem, but I worry about the room available in the sole...
And I think I'll need to check out some details like friction between the laces and the foam and the feet.

- - EDIT - - cavx, you might see something coming up in few hours with 4 laces... who knows...

RVLF very cool, I look forward to it.

You have mentioned friction and I was wondering how you plan on dealing that. Not that lacing once a day will cause much, but continuous use over time may present some issues.

****** , I think I've messed up my system.

When I attach 4 laces to it, it becomes too weak. Not to mention the friction problem.
And as I've sewn the shoe, it is too tight between the laces and the fabric (more friction).
The problem is the join on the side of the ribs... (I made it really bad)
I'll sleep on this and see if I find another way/system... :behave

:facepalm sorry guys it is not for today

If you can find very thin nylon (white plastic type stuff) sheets you may be able to place that where there is lots of friction. That's what's done in my industrial laundry (though they can regularly grease the nylon to prevent it wearing away) but I don't work in the department that installs those kind of things so I don't know where you could get it other than at a hardware or engineering store.
Don't stress how long something takes, you're doing more than many people (including me! I have to hurry up and finish building my shed workshop so I can do these kind of things haha)

Thanks DragonGalvy, I'll see if I can find something like that. Do you have pictures or a reference on the web to see what is it exactly ?

I'm going to rebuild something but not in the shoe to run the tests. But for a wearable version, I guess I'll have to create some kind of pipes to guide the laces in and this should have to be smooth as a baby's a** ^^

I'm sre there is a way to make them starting from my method but I need to find out how to bring more power to it and let lthe laces only go the way I designed... (and without any motor !)

So here we are and there have to be some modifications on the pattern of the shoe in order to make this system to work.

First thing is to eliminate some frictions issue with the joint on the side of the shoe.
I'm going to push this joint further to get it near the first lace :

About the laces : I have 2 different type of laces (the third one is the same as the one on the left but this is the other side).
Which one do you think is closer to the RDs (from left to right) ?
