Fight Club Tyler Durden T-shirts?

I sent a message to Oliver Peoples (asking why they discontinued the OP523) and got a real quick response:

There are many reasons. First, the lenses are not safety approved by Luxottica (the popular red cancels out red and green colors, which is a safety hazard when driving). Second, it doesn't fit into the current collection, which is kept tailored and at a certain number of styles (we discontinue excellent styles all the time in an effort to keep the collection tight) - this also contributes to the limited amount of most styles. Third, apart from Fight Club fans, the frame is undesirable (not very attractive, heavy and a bit uncomfortable). We released a small quantity in 2009 to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the movie, but only the red lenses sold (we made them in the original orange too).
Hope that helps!

I wanna try and dye it. I watched youtube tutorials on dying leather Jackets.
Heres a comparison photo next to the films jacket.
I think the Jacket is bigger than a 40.

Anyone know how much the Costume designer changed from the vintage one he found?
Is there a way of determining what style or brand a vintage jacket is by its collar style or stitching?
This jacket looks so close to the films one.

Every jacket in the film was designed, cut, and tailored by Kaplan supposedly using this possibly vintage jacket as a prototype. We don't know if this jacket was made by Kaplan, but it looks vintage. Now, the only vintage jackets I have ever seen which look like this and have very similar details, were made by REED SPORTWEAR.fc jacket.png

and the trapper hat brad pitt wears in the power outage scene was a 'the north face' brand. you can see the velcro on the left ear flap, i found the exact replica but different color on ebay

That's awesome man, thanks for sharing! I've been trying to find that hat for a while now.

Can you post pics?

And that's a pretty sweet find D00R

Tremendous Goodwill find DOOR. Did anyone identify the actual t-shirt brand of the the Tie Dye-T? I have a Gap shirt that looks dead on minus the tie dye, but is such a common style.

Door. Your jacket looks identical to the replica killing them softly jackets that are coming out right now. Google image killing them softly jacket and you'll see. Does it look vintage to you? And I mean in quality not style

It feels vintage, its thin and lose jacket.
Thats what it could be that Jacket? I never heard of the killing them softly jacket, cool ill checl it out.
Thanks guys. I finally have a somewhat tyler Durden Jacket.

I just looked at the KTS Jacket, mine doesnt have those pockets or that chest atitching style but thats cool Brad Pitt is wearing a TD Style jacket again. The jacket i found is a dark brown leather.

Ok I am going to ask it and if it is not allowed I can edit it:

Has anyone ordered from Itisalwayssunny or Higherthanthesun on ebay? These two people always have OP 523, Sunsets, and other Oliver People brand sunglasses that aren't found in Fight Club.

1) Are they the same person? I kind of wonder if they are because the item location is only listed in United States and not a city or state. If they both ship from the same city / state there is a good chance they are.

2) Has anyone ordered from them? Where did the order come from?

I ask the above because I wonder if possibly these guys or guy is simply an Oliver Peoples employee using his own discount or hoarding these sunglasses or buying them from across the shore and reselling them on ebay. Depending where it shipped from, I wondered if there was a nearby Oliver Peoples store since there is only like 6 locations in the US. Someone even pointed out that one of these users (Or user if its the same person) has old school Oliver Peoples catalogs and such from the 1990's.

I havent ordered from them, but I believe him to be a legit seller. regarding where he is getting them from, I don't know. He has his source I guess. I said before, I believe the Japanese are still manufacturing OP-523 somewhere. I don't know if he hoarded the sunglasses, but we all know that the old frame were a different metal in a different finish, so it can't be an employee who hoarded the 2009 re-releases. It's gotta be someone who either has a crap load of vintage op-523's or is some how getting them from somewhere that is still manufacturing them. I know he has some pretty cool stuff right now. An aero, in what he says are original authentic gothic rose color lenses from the 90's. Not what they created for Pit, that was a custom color for the film. Anyone can get it done, if you push OP to do it enough times. He said Coral was a way better substitution for the film's color lenses.

to black sugar and Soul and whoever else knows the brand of the brown boots tyler wears when he gets beat up by Lou.. Do you guys know which ones are the real boots? Sugar's have a cap toe and are a different shape. Soul's don't have a cap toe and appear to have steel toe.

Oh no I am not saying he isn't a legit seller. He stuff is definitely legit I have seen people say they bought from him. As for the hoarding, Oliver Peoples has a tendency to stagger the release of items so it could be he kept buying a pair as they staggered them.

I bought my Oliver Peoples 523 blood red in silver frame in like April of 2011. That was two years after the 2009 release and when I called I asked the employee and he said he had his own private "stash" of 523's. I asked how many Blood reds he had at the time and he had like 4 of them. I only bought the one. -- This was the same guy that sold me the Aero 54 in 2012 and made the custom lens. I have also bought other "discontinued" frames such as Nitros from them by calling every store and some employee has a stash of them. Do they get commission?

In fact, last I checked when I was calling Oliver Peoples some 523's were still available in gold with the brown lens.

And I should note I bought these all brand new from Oliver Peoples I have the receipts saved to prove it and the thank you cards.

By the way, when I go to Oliver Peoples I plan to purchase quite a few custom lenses. Not only for my non Fight Club sunglasses (For different colors), but I also want to see if they will sell me like 5 copies of the Blood Red lens and like 5 copies of the custom lens I want done. I might get some Burnt Orange lens like that are in the Aeros but I do enjoy the color I currently have.

I think these might be it, or very very similar. Even the very low heel and the heel's length seems to be correct with the film's boots. Also, if you look at the sole and leather uppers, theyre stitched on old school style.
