I searched and can't seem to find a thread on this, if it's a dupe, pardon.

Is anyone going to watch this tonight? I have decided that to show my disgust with last season i am not watching tonight. It won't matter in the grand sceme of things but they'll repeat next week anyways so i will start watching next week. :darnkids I usually watch all the marathons on previuous seasons but i could not stomach doing it this time. I'm a grumpy old man anyways. What say you?

I gave up watching it two episodes into season three. I just wait till the season is over so I can check out the clips of the actual artwork on the website without having to sit through the (obviously scripted) "human interaction drama" garbage they started wasting camera time on in season 2.

I really enjoy seeing the process and the end result but ya, I agree with Sludgemunkey, the in between drama junk that happens is lame and a waste of time.

I really love watching the building and prop making but hate all the in between drama.
The one thing I do really like is how they will help each other with their projects.
It doesnt seem as cuthroat like a lot of reality competition shows.
We usually DVR it then fast forward to the good parts.

Yeah, but at least it wasn't drama between people like the prior seasons to 3. Joe leaves first episode, and we have no drama between them. I liked that better than listening to the dinglenuts' that thought they were the best and caused nothing but issues between everyone.

So far, this season looks like it will have a lot of drama...

I had the DVR set up yesterday for it. I love the show. I agree bit could use less drama but I love watching the process.

I only watch it for the actual makeup work. I couldn't care less about everything else and I find myself rolling my eyes at just about everything on the show.

As for tonight's episode......

That mountain goblin was by far the best. The sculpted rock was awesome. And that black dude that went home was a no brainer

I like how in season 3 they made more sci-fi ones. It's the Syfy channel for crying out loud!

I will say that there are some damn good sculptors this season. Might even be the most talented group "as a whole" out of any other season. But don't quote me until we have a chance to see more of their work. :lol

So it looks like they ditched the "America chooses the winner" BS they had last season. I saw no mention of it whatsoever.

Probably had to do with the fact that Nicole won and she didn't deserve to.

Before the show started the website had the audition videos up. It showed all the people who said they would cheat to win, and showed a lot of their prior work.

I saw J. Anothony's work on the faceoff home page and it was great! I think J. Anothony Kosar will win this season. His work is just awesome. The first episode pretty much confirmed it.

I was very surprised by the quality of the work on the first challenge of this season. I liked nearly all of them (except for the volcano guy, I'm glad he went home).

I'm looking forward to seeing what all else they do this season.

The guy that won last night was pretty good. But I think the show would be better if they showed more of the individual challenge work that the rush to get final looks in. They need to watch Project runway more since thats who they are trying to rip off.

I really like this show, they just need to "Trim the fat off" so to speak.

It doesn't seem to matter how good you are in the end as last season proved that you can rock almost every challenge and have 1 bad one and get sent home by the judges. I am glad they did away with the "Murica Chooses" I hope they focus less on the drama and more on the actual challenges but as we all know drama sells . The guy who won last night has serious skill. Top 3 if not the winner.

That's the thing about the show. Yeah you're on the show to win the grand prize, but you're also completely pimping yourself out to the industry. I'm curious to know how many contestants have gone on to get jobs at FX shops because of the work they did on the show. It's not really a lose-lose if you get eliminated.......unless you suck like some of the contestants have.
