Face off season 4

Im not into makeup or modelmaking, but I find completely fascinanting to watch the proccess of this things, thats why I love this forum and I like Face Off... Its a shame that they dont show more the proccess, it could be very educational.

Last season was a travesty, with the amazing Roy loosing over that girl and his horrible-horrible werewolf makeup... and then she won! I want to believe that Tatopoulos left the show because of this... probably not, but...

Anyway, its a very etertainning show, and its a rare chance to see in tv such big names as Ve, Tatopoulos o Page, and a legend like Michael Westmore, being as I am a trekkie, and having grow watchign Star Trek: TNG and DS9, its so rare for me to have the chance of seeing him like this, after years of reading about him in ST magazine, and such...

I just hope this season ends with a fair winner... the guy who won yesterday has already show some serious skill... his concepting, sculpting and painting skills are pretty good...

BTW... anyone from here in the show this season?

Tatopoulus was the one who brought the girl who won back. Could be he is not there because of it. He was gone on some picture and shows up just to bring one of the loosers back. I still think it was V and the other ladies who run the sciffi channel now that were the ones who were going to make sure some girl won and picked the one with the sickness to also get the sympathy vote. Either way, it's over and this is a new season. I'll probably watch next week, or not and just wait till the end when they do a marathon and watch it all in one go. I have not watched the scifi channel in ages. Just a bunch of fake "reality" crap on there now.

I would have watched it last night if Comcast wasn't the POS that it is.

It looks like a very talented group of artists this season. The bar seems set pretty high with the exception of that god-awful volcano traffic cone mess. I hope the good work continues and we'll agree write-off last season's debacle.

Much like everyone else I'll re-state they need to tone down the bad drama. It takes away time from why we're watching... to see the fx work!

The real talented people really showed through this episode.
I figure the best looks this episode will all be in the finals.
J. Anothony's work got best with an unfinished character!
Really shows how much talent he has compared to everyone else.

Everyone on this episode spent a lot of time on the characters physic and not so much on the faces. In the other seasons the face applications seemed like the most important thing.

On topic, it's obvious Anthony is the front runner only 2 episodes in especially winning with what he considered an unfinished product.

Anthony's was the only good looking character this time around.

I think all of the others looked horrible in compairison.

I know the spotlight challenge is to create a demon. I don't remember the main challenge.

Has anyone else noticed but I was happy to see that they didn't cut to the house once. The entire show was set at the warehouse covering the builds

Oh the season premier. I think the stuff that was done last night was even worse besides Anthony's sculpt. Even though his want finished but it did play in his favor.

I only partly saw last night's and they all seemed to get worse from the premier. Really ****ty stuff. The guy called it right, that ones mask looked like it should be at a college frat party. The only one that was worth anything was the 'visible' superhero. He was pretty awesome.

Especially since it seems to have been shot even before the last season finished airing?

to answer a few of the questions that i saw. Yes some of the past contestants work in the industry ..of course most of those actually worked in the industry before they were on ( In some cases, they even worked for their "Judges") Patrick was filming the sequel to 300 during season 3 AND 4 ( they were shot back to back..season four was taped long ago) He was not an original judge even on season one ..he replaced someone else before taping began. You dont see the whole process because the contestants dont actually partake of the whole process. All molds are run by techs at the end of the day. Costumes are not fabricated by them ..and all the concept art you see are by the same hand. oh .and dont worry .. The Judges didnt really decide who stayed and went ..just like America didnt ( producers wont trust ratings surges to anyone else)

I agree that 99% of the work done this past week was crap. haha. One question though, how did Alam Park (she created the glass guy) get away with not being a bottom look?! The back piece fell off and they showed the judges even reacting to the scrap job that was done to cover it up, then... nothing.

I think that was a testament to just how bad everyone else was. I mean the only thing the guy who went home did over 3 days was make a terrible mask and the duct tape on the outside of the costume... Really? Bush league.

It seems like five or so people know what they are doing and they rest are just hot messes. Some decent sculptors though.

That was a surprise to me when I didn't see Alam Park at the end as one of the worse. These people have to be very well rounded in order to survive. I've seen people who can be good at only 1 thing get caught in the wrong challenge and fall flat on their face. I already have my favorite. Looking forward to the next episode.

I too wondered why Alam wasn't on the chopping block. Was there some kind of hail Mary strip tease she did for the judges that they edited out that granted her the stay this week? She definitely screwed up bad. I'm surprised she was safe. That was pretty messed up.

I am a bit disappointed the black guy got canned in the first one. He sculpted the face and chest and even V said the chest was the best part of the crappy job. How did the guy, who got kicked off in the second round, who made the stupid dunce hat not get most of the blame? They kicked the guy who did the best job on the worse outfit out rather then the guy who did the worse. I don't even think his face sculpt was all that bad. Certainly not worse then the hat. Thankfully he got canned in the next one but for all we know the black guy might of shined in the second. I'm giving it one more episode, if this blatant crap continues i will not watch anymore. The whole thing seems dated when they are going to last years comicon. These producers are the ones who should get kicked out.
