OK, and here is the great photo dump of over 1000 photos. They are shot in multiple lighting situations so you can get the detail where you need it. Most are of the original set, but some are from my reproduction set I fixed and re sculpted.

OK, first up, big thank you to Slash-5 for taking so many photos and then making them available to play with. Your generosity is appreciated, sorry the whole thing has become a bit of a drag.
I needed a few of the chess pieces for something I’m working on but don’t really have the time or budget to acquire a genuine set. Thankfully I’m reasonably handy with the 3D stuff.
These are just raw files at the moment, I’m guessing if anyone was thinking of attempting a “run” these would need significant clean up in a sculpting program. I could probably do it but not sure I have the time at the mo. We’ll see.

BREAKING! NEW INFO!
Guys, I may be wrong. Just spent a lot of time on the phone with Hoyle's, and the very early sets from Banbury were brown. One of these was used in the film. I've spent a long time on this hi-res still, and after color correction, I think they are right. I'll also update the first post.

The latest trailer of Stranger things has a Birds chess set...it's not a Hoyle's... it is the re-sculpt copy from Amazon... 
You can see differences in the base of the pawn, the arm under the hawk, the Queen's head, the chain on the King, etc.

Eleven or one of her cell mates didn’t have you to refer to for the correct and authentic Hoyle’s set.
