EP VII Millennium Falcon

On the Skelling Michael shot, what happened to the right sensor next to the cockpit, seems off. There is a round thingie on it.

.....& gaps between the thruster flaps:

..still looks like the rear quarter sidewalls are mirrored

Gaps in the 'thruster flaps' seems a real-world requirement if you can move them up and down from a minimum opening to a max opening...unless you include separate pieces to close the gaps during movement.

yeah, kinda sad we didn't see the turkeyfeathers in action during the movie. Seems like the TIE chase would have been a great scene to have them directing thrust

well, thanks this clip let's move on to an actual hatch inside the TFA Falcon.

near as I can make out, the access hatch to the "compressor" bypass operates with a piston-arm and track. As the hatch hinges closed along the panel edge, the slider moves up toward the top of the panel...

AHHHH... you beat me to it! ;)

At :32 of the vid, the piston arm and track appear to be located on the left side of the access panel. There also appears to be a foam padding adhered to the main panel itself that the access lid rests on. I would really like to know what they used for the actual hinge. :)

It seems the page suggests that the those panoramics came from actual sets, but the falcon cockpit sure does look rendered to me. Cool either way though.

Just so incredible and a delight to watch at home after the cinema experience.

I do prefer the 2D feature in the blu-ray, however.

A quick question for Steve Starkiller:

Would it be okay if I PM'ed you a question that would be a bit of a derail from the thread?

Thanks,

Brian

It is in fact the actual set. If you zoom in you can individual hex bolts heads and screws. :)

Notice they redid the floor grating since ESB, but they did keep the two maintenance pit covers the same. The Falcon in ANH didn't even have the distinct maintenance octagonal pit covers, the floor was uniform overall in ANH, the two distinct pits did not appear until ESB.

Oh and I think they tweaked the brightness of that 360 thing. had it very evenly lit so it could be seen well, giving it the rendered look, even though it wasn't.

I think there was only one pit in ESB, no?

The grating is a little different because, as the participants of this thread

can tell you, those 70s pallets are impossible to find!

I see the little chair has been replaced. The one Obi Wan sat on was a tractor seat.

Given the amount of owners it went through, there probably should have been MORE differences, but of course it's more fun this way. :)
