DST WOK PHASER... Who got theirs?!?

I may have to order it. Local comic shop closed up and went bye-bye.:unsure I have to do some paypal tonight so I might as well grab one of these. What kind of lights are in the emitter? Bulbs, LEDs? How many?

Four red LED's.

Which react differently depending on the setting.

1. Safety: No light.
2. Stun: Two outer LEDs light up.
3. Heat: Two inner LEDs light up.
4. Kill: All four LEDs light up.
5. Disintegrate: The inner and outer LEDs light up in sequence.

Ordered some books from Amazon today and decided to tack one of these bad boys onto my order. Playtime cometh. :)

Anyone thought of doing the WOK upsidedown holsters for these puppies? I'd do it myself if anyone has good reference or screen shots...

I was playing with the phaser while watching WOK (what?) and I noticed that while the replica has white LED's the one's in the film appear to be amber. In an effort to get as close as possible to the one on screen I painted the LED's on mine with Tamiya clear orange and I think they look pretty good.

You can tell the difference between the two by comparing the color of the 'Dilithium crystal' and the beam selection lights.

Oh, and sorry for the crappy out-of-focus picture. I was in a hurry.

Just received mine and I am VERY impressed. DST outdid themselves, particularly love the LED sequences. I am sure there are ways to make this puppy more accurate, but for now, this is a nice addition.

The magnetically attached P1 (actually a P3 if you want to get treknical) was a pleasant surprise. I missed that fact if it was mentioned here.

Has anyone seen those drawings for the P3 for this phaser? its pretty odd. I have a picture saved on my PC somewhere if anyone wants a look. I thought about trying to scratch build one someday for this phaser. Who ever made it called it a Phaser 5. I don't know if its official or not but its kinda neat.

Maybe it's the inner mechanics of the device locking it into place that coincide with the placement? :confused

I'm still curious on why the trigger is so freaking loud when you press it. I'm serious, everyone who owns this should try my method. It makes the whole phaser so much better.

The click and resistance of the trigger would probably be more true to life. You don't want a weapon with a hair trigger, especially for military use. Your modification would probably be considered a competition-grade modification for sporting purposes.

Original design was bigger and squarer.

Can anyone who has both the Miarecki Yesterday's Enterprise version of the phaser and the DST post a side-by-side comparison pic?

The same if you have an HMS/Rod.com?

Thanks.

P3? No it's a p1. A p3 would be a rifle. What do you mean?

Man I want one of these!

Def. not canon, but the reference book, Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise has a diagram of the TWOK phaser and explains its official title is the "Phaser IV", and the attachment a "Phaser III". It also names the ST 3 phaser, "Phaser 1B and 2B"

Now I am twist' turned upside down. I give up, here is the description from Memory Beta, again not canon. Its still a "type-2," but technically made up of a Phaser III and IV.

"In the 2270s, the Atalskes Phaser Corporation phaser IV model of type-2 phaser was introduced, again consisting of a (somewhat larger) hand phaser (known as the phaser III) mated to a pistol handle. These weapons were first issued on reference stardate 2/12 and were used well into the 24th century, despite other models being available. These weapons were used aboard many vessels, such as the Enterprise (from 2273 until 2285), Reliant, and the Enterprise-C."

The above info is from the book I previously talked about.

See how this is a Phaser Five? The regular TWOK phaser, without the attachment, would be the IV. Books aren't canon though, so I should have specified.

Yeah I think I have that other page also where it says the WOK is Phaser 3. Not cannon. But interesting nonetheless.
