Dewy and Anakin Starkiller's Accurate Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 1 Lightsaber Design

This is my video review synopsis of the goals of this project, hope it's helpful:

From what I recall, I believe the emitter was damaged perhaps during the filming process which is what caused its bent current state. Someone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

It’s believed this is damage. It was dropped and part of the pommel cracked off, and I think the emitter was knocked askew. We don’t know exactly how those beveled rings are constructed - I don’t think they are full plates like on the Dewy project, so they might be press fit or glued. If knocked they might be able to slide.

Just curious if anyone decided (and succeeded) in painting the delrin parts.

If anyone has done so, what did you use and any specific preparation needed?

I’ve heard/seen a few people try and supposedly had some bad luck with the paint not sticking very well.

Painting delrin is a pain in the a** . You can use some adhesion promoter but even then, it wont hold well. Personally - Ive left mine.

I dusted mine with the acrylic lacquer used on the other lightsaber props. The surface was too slick for the pommel paint to stay, the rest looks okay. Especially the emitter, I wanted it more matte. It can rub off and to me that just looks used in universe.

Not sure if anyone read my post on my finished hilt, but I used Car guys blackening cream with various grades fine grit sandpaper to bring that beautiful dark satin finish

Maybe I got lucky but I just washed my Delrin parts with soapy water and painted them with really light coats of rustoleum 2x flat black paint + primer and had no issues, still looks great but to be fair I’m really careful when I handle it.

I also had no issues.

Do you mind posting a link to the blackening cream you used? I was having trouble finding which product it would be.

I found your post on the other thread and the hilt looks great.

Here's the stuff
