Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

My version of the fans. They will come with Set SM-002

That's the beauty of having this as a Kit that is built rather than buying it pre-made. you get to do with it as you like and your skills allow for. Personally I'm going to build it as close to the real model as I can. This will totally include redoing the landing gear boxes and rear panels that have the wall mount screw holes... and a total paint-job overhaul other minor tweaks to get it closer to true. but mostly I'm building it as is... the only major exception is the cockpit. The "real" 32 falcon cockpit was kinda lame... This one (repainted nicely) looks much better up close and personal.

Has anyone not recived their July/Aug parts yet? I have not recived my parts or been billed this month. CC# is still good and shipping address has not changed.

My month 19 was billed August 2nd and shipped August 3rd. Generally it arrives in about 5-6 business days. Are you expecting the same shipment?

I got my parts up to 69-ish I think. Not sure where you are but thats where im at in the USA.

With the side pieces for the port mandible included in today's issue I was able to position the model pieces together to have a look at the overall effect. I think it is looking rather good, despite the occasional mistake from DeAgo. My cockpit cone is the 3D print from SpaceInScale on Shapeways. It makes an enormous difference to the overall appearance. I have Tony's cockpit interior for it as well. Next purchase will be Tony's replacement dish. The cone is sprayed with Tamiya AS20, there is quite a lot of contrast between it and the rest of the model, so be prepared for a full respray if you are planning on modifying it.

Can you take a picture like the first one only with the deag cockpit? Just to get an impression of the difference.

Sorry, I would gladly take a picture for you if I had them but I threw the DeAgo ones in the bin when I got this one for my birthday last month. I had no other use for them. In my opinion there is a huge difference and I will say that if there is only one mod that everyone should make it is to replace the cone with either the space in scale (looks spot on for the 32") or TonyRR (slightly more of a 5' look to it in my opinion, but amazing detail on the inside of the frames!) cones. Worth every penny.

Kontherun, I forgot that I had uploaded some photos of DeAgo's first attempt at the cone on here, so I took some pics of the space in scale on from roughly similar angles. I hope this may be of some use to you, it is the best comparison I can do for you.

Thanks a million. That's great. I have considered getting a replacement cockpit but I couldn't see how big the difference was. This is really helpful.

The part that I hated worst about the Deagostini canopy is that the window struts actually appeared to get thicker as they move down to the front. It may be an optical illusion because the window frames get more narrow, I never measured them, but that is the part I couldn't live with. Deagostinis second attempt was slightly better but the window struts were still too thick when comparing to the real thing along with a few other problems.I too went with the spaceinscale design.

Maybe I'm missing something, but is anyone else wondering how the mandibles are going to attach when it's time? I mean I can see where they attach, but if they have us screw together the bottom and top of the mandibles, which it appears we do, how do we attach the two saucer sections and still have access to screw together the mandible screws? I mean am I missing something here, but it seems like there is no way to attach them if we screw top and bottom of the mandibles first.

I don't think they screw in on both sides, just the bottom and then pins from the top. I also noticed if you follow the instructions on the top plating and screw in the cockpit portion with the removable panel you won't be able to add the rest of the cockpit without removing the previous section. Hmmm....

Ah got ya! I didn't pay attention to the pins before now. I thought the same thing about the cockpit. Looks like we will have to unscrew it.

Let's see if I can post a picture of my 'enhancements' to my falcon. I plan on also adding more 5 footer parts to the engine deck.image.jpeg3D modeled by me and printed via shapeways.
