No, Conventions etc are not really my thing.
i built it for a purpose and it's in a box now until I can decide what I want to do with it.

i think I'll strip the mask and repaint, to get a bit of practice

Looks great. Only thing is that the tentacles look a little stiff. Like you got a stick in every one of them hehe
(I couldnt do it better myself though)

The tentacles are actually hollow latex and quite flexible.
I did think about animatronics but it was a mask for one use.
Buuuuuut I've been bitten by the bug now,.... So who knows

Turned out really great! Animatronic tentacles would make it awesome--if you end up making a version 2.0, I'd love to see an animatronic build thread. You may also consider scuplting a few tentacles with a curve in them to give the illusion of movement.

beleive it or not im now researching animatronic parts, but theres not a lot here in the UK.
I did put curves and twists in some of them , but you cant really see them well in the photo.

I've been looking into animatronics for my next piece but I've never done anything like that before so i hope you've been talked into upgrading your mask so I can watch you tread that path before I do and pick up some pointers.

Hmmmmm My friend in the US has started working on his pirate costume for next years cruise, and he's being very secretive.
His wife tells me he's beavering away in the basement, then locking stuff away.
Sounds like a challenge coming my way. Lol

I'll need to look at my workload this year ( cos that's what pays for this stuff lol) and see if I can look at a new costume ..... Maybe.
But it will need to be something special........
