DARTH VADER ANH costumes

Thanks for the mesh reply and closeup. It does look great. I will have to get two pieces if it becomes available.

Yep, this mesh looks pretty dead on. I can't wait until it's available. :)

Me too - please let us know (and please do a run. :p )

Just in case some of you got the info about the mesh wrong -

My pal is not going to sell it, he is going to release (or tell) the
"source" where he found it himself, and once he told me, I'm
gonna share it here with everybody on the RPF :)

Everybody should be able to find their own piece of mesh
once they know what to look for - right now I unfortunately
don't know anything, yet ... except that it came from a 60s
or 70s Tape recorder or something like that ... but my friend
is close to get another one of those recorders and once he got
it he'll let me know the brand and the type number and so on,
and I'll post those infos here, so everybody can try and get one
of these things on ebay or whatever.

Cheers,

Jesper :)

I hope the mesh is large enough on such a tape recorder, so it can provide multiple belt boxes...

otherwise the hunt is on

Jesper, can you share what you are using as a mannequin? I am using a modified mannequin, but am finding that it is almost too tall. There are big gaps between my chestbox, belt, and cod. I'm thinking I may have overdone it on the tallness thing.

Just a regular Mannequin bought on ebay for about 150 $ - I "bulked it up" with a few old towels
and some foam here and there ... that's all :p

Nice work on the basic body with some towels and foam.

And I am ready to hunt for the box mesh. :) Thought I was hoping it was being produced and someone was selling it....LOL.

Hmmm... I'm thinking I made mine too tall. I've got a spacer at the mid section of about 2 inches, and there is just too much suit showing between the armor/chestbox/belt/codpiece. May have to rethink the height thing.

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd post this here...just an HD screencap of an original ANH rod... :)

Very close to something you'd find on one of these, or a similar instrument. Mentioning the guitar jogged my memory. I have one of these Fender Echo things stored away somewhere.

:eek :eek :eek ... wow - that actually looks to get pretty close ...

only a shame to rip that great old thing apart for a piece of mesh ... :lol

Yes, it looks like a vintage tweed or grill cover for an amplifier, and ya know they still make the covering for people who restore old stuff like that........ It's worth checking into:)
