Captain America: Civil War

I have to wonder if the Bucky shot with Tony is a flashback moment. If that attempt to kill him is after they take sides / present, it makes it pretty clear which side is in the wrong.
Ideally, I would be on Capt's side. Given the corruption has not been cleared in the governments and we know Hydra was pretty entrenched, seems to make it clear the Avengers teams should be the ones to make the decisions, not a world governing body. That and the ramification of micromanagement by such. Of course, if they follow the comic's past history...

Assuming Thanos also does get the infinity gauntlet, any death can be turned around in the future, so with this film series, they could get as bloody/deadly as they want and have an out in the Avengers Phase 3 showdown.

i really hope the glove doesn't have the "resurrection" power like it did in the comics... i dont know how i feel about that power on screen

I don't know if that would be a "jump the shark moment" with the general public. I think the concept of a multiple Earth universe would be the moment that would push the general public's acceptance with Marvel's films. If they go full on with the route of a Multiverse, I think they are going to have a harder time hanging onto the franchise fandom for the general movie audience.

Cap's in a tough position to defend his buddy.

In addition to trying to take out Stark...
he shot Nick Fury (after trying to blow him up)
he shot Natasha twice (years ago ("no bikinis") - then later in the shoulder)
he shot Steve
he shot all the loyal SHIELD agents that tried to provide back up for Steve
he threw Sam Wilson off a helicarrier

it's a tough case to make that Bucky is no longer a threat to society

Team Cap all the way, just like in the comics.

(Repeating some of my comments from FB earlier)

Bucky now being back to his senses will be the catalyst for Cap being protective and not letting Iron Man capture him. But it's the registration act (aka The Slovakia Accords) akin to the comics which will likely be the bigger driving force for the split and team formations.

For most people it's easier to disregard Bucky not being worthy enough and might feel like an unnecessary reason for jump starting a war. I guess he is just another criminal for every other person in the MCU and for the audience.

Cap also knows Bucky is still unstable and he doesn't want to lose his friend again. There are bound to be multiple instances where Iron Man (and team) has attacked Bucky in a straight up lethal way to bring him down instantly, probably why Bucky isn't going soft on him during that particular scene.

Cap lost his best friend during the WW2 years and he never imagined he would ever see him again. Now almost like a miracle, he has his friend back and he has his old memories.

Everyone Cap knew from his old world except for Peggy are all dead. I guess the preciousness of having that old best friend with him is going to be hard for anyone else to relate to.

There will be so much going on in this movie, but I expect the Russo Brothers to deliver again on the character front just like the action.

All while he was gong through continuous brainwashing compliments of Hydra. The same Hydra that Nick Fury and Widow were blindly working for all along. And let's not forget the fact that S.H.I.E.L.D. was also responsible for everything connected to the Teseract. Had they just left it in the Arctic ice NYC would have been a lot better off.
Stark is hardly a boy scout given the whole Ultron thing and all the deaths that were connected with that are on him (and Banner).
Banner has destroyed how many cities during a Hulk rampage.

Point being... if they can get a pass Bucky should be able to as well.

I'm for Team Cap. Stark is an ego maniac who can't decide which side of the road he wants to walk. One minute he's fighting with congress and "privatizing world peace" the next minute he's a government stooge... and apparently taking orders from General Ross who's shady as heck given how much time, manpower, and equipment/resources he's sacrificed trying to catch Banner/Hulk. He's hardly the one to be giving speeches about being a vigilante and playing by the rules.

I agree on all fronts. I've been solidly Team Cap from the start. I guess I'm just playing the devil's advocate regarding my position because, to anybody else, it's difficult to appreciate Bucky's state of mind the way Cap might. They wouldn't know anything about what he was like before the brainwashing and they have no reason not to suspect the man isn't a psychopath to the core.

We, as viewers, have the privilege of seeing the entire story from the start but, it's understandable, that everyone else who only knows his documented history as an assassin can only see him as a murderer.
For those (in the MCU) who side with Cap they have to depend on little more than their faith in his judgment about Bucky's character.
For some that's enough. For others it's not.
That's the line.

I've been waiting for Steve to beat Tony down since the first Avengers movie. Go Cap!

My feeling is that this film will set the tone for phase 3. I don't expect everyone to shake hands and be friends again at the end of civil war. These conflicts will probably continue until Thanos shows up in Infinity War and everyone has to put aside their differences to face the greater threat.

Btw, team Cap all the way. Stark has been needing a good butt stomping for a while now. [emoji13]

I just had a thought about that scene where Bucky pulls a Glock on Stark
Maybe that confrontation happens after we learn that Steve is killed?

Is this supposed to happen in Civil War?

I thought that Chris Evans was signed on until after Infinity War. Is he rumored to die in Civil War? I have heard that some characters die, I just never expected it to be Steve Rogers...

People are assuming that because it happened in the comics. I disagree based on your first sentence of spoiler text.

Tamashii Nations is putting out at least 3 Figuarts (Cap, IM, and AM), and Ant-Man's suit does look better seeing the whole thing. It's also amusing that he comes with a tiny version as an accessory, too.
