Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

when I got the kunio from karen walker last week I was impressed by the quality of the frame they sell you for that kind of price, so I remembered about another karen walker frame I id'd from robert downey jr instagram during the last avengers press tour, the sidney, and since these glasses are kind of cheap compared to what we are used to buy I ordered them.

they arrived a bit curved and bended in a way you wouldn't expect, but luckily I was able to fix them in ten minutes with the help of my optician and some hot air. the lenses are a kind of clear/amber, and when you put them on they look a bit darker compared to what they look like on stock photos.

I would say they're a nice addition to my collection

Nice! Do you have a pic?

I’m not saying they are a dita level quality obviously, but in the 150€ range I think they’re above average

I think they base their orders on preorders, more or less
Yeah, it's probably to gauge the size of the first production run, so there isn't tons of unwanted stock lying around a few months after release.

I do appreciate though, that there can be unforeseen delays.

It's just a bit annoying, as the process doesn't really feel that different to those sellers on ebay who sell items they don't actually have, then use your money to order in the stock afterwards, meaning a huge delay in getting your item.

Still, I suppose the discounted price is the reward for the wait.

Honestly at this point I'd be happy with a full refund. The coolness factor of these frames decrease with each passing month of the films release. And i have a feeling im going to be under whelmed at its quality when I'm used to pieces from Dita.

I hear you man!
I'm still living in hope that I can source some real Bromleys too!

Speaking of your passion for Ditas, apologies if this makes you unwell! Prepare to cringe....
I call them my Ditto Mock-Six...

Lol...
At least for knock-offs, the size is correct at 62mm. At $11, they are good enough for when I'm DIY'ing outside!

of course all of us will keep an eye if some real bromleys appear on the internet, but about the quality, considering the other pairs from initium I have I'm pretty sure this ones will be good. the original bromleys are not luxury glasses from what I read and saw, and about "the coolness factor", well, I still love to wear matsudas from a movie that came out years ago, not to mention the other tons of vintage frames I own, so that's not a thing I consider, but I understand your point.

I agree instead with what you're saying that this is a bit like buying something from a seller on ebay that doesn't have the item ready yet, or maybe I tend to see it like a kickstarter thing; I prefer to wait a little bit more and to have a better product, and in the end I think the discounted price can be considered some sort of a reward for us that trusted them and bought the sunglasses sight unseen. we just have to wait a couple of weeks more and we'll find out if this was worth the money and the wait
