Building X-Wing 1/24 : Help!!

THe engines have completely diffrent detailing than the other X-Wings. The intake shrouds have a diffrent panel pattern.

Detail needs to be added to the exposed engine that is under each wing.

Then comes the anal part I was talking about. Adding the little black rectangles and decals.

About the Red 2 engines: recently I've been under the impression that the exhaust portions aren't really detailed differently, they're just turned 180 degrees. I thought I saw or have a picture somewhere with the "Red 2" detailing visible on the side opposite the Whitley gear--on a bird other than Red 2. I'll see if I can turn those pics up.

edit: grammar/clarity

yes I saw that too there ae some sealab parts in there man getting all those willbe rough but I am pretty good with brss rod and silver solder so I will scratch those and the other part near the wing root is a barrel from a tamiya kit maybe the 25 pndr or the 88mm not sure of that one its all so dark in there I was able to blow up some old B&W pics to find these details man that morie pattern messes up everything

For those who didn't see the answer posted elsewhere, it's an air tank part from the Sealab.

As I mentioned a while back, this summer the Planet Hollywood merchandise store at the "Downtown Disney" marketplace at Walt Disney World featured a display of screenused and replica props, costumes and models. That is where I took those pics of the blown-up Red 4 and the Death Star panels.

There was a complete X-Wing hanging from the ceiling. Looks like it might be a new casting. It's pretty crisp. I don't know what to make of it. A Captain Cardboard? ICONS? Interested in what y'all think.

here a quandry
I and doing red three and that is wedge he has a r5 trashcan head droid in the rouge suadron novels can anyone point out if he had this during the NH serial
in the novels he had it for ever and If so I am going with that but would like the here opinions

ca

Red 3 is Biggs. Wedge is Red 2. In ANH Wedge's full-scale astromech was an R2 with a red dome--one can barely see the edge of it behind him in the film. I believe the same dome was used for other R2s in the film as seen on this page:

http://www.astromech.net/gallery/astromechs/R3-T2.htm

(called an R3 for some reason in the "Expanded Universe" canon.)

The R2 dome on the model is silver with red panels.

a lot of you already may know this but I just discovered this
after rebuilding the wing root boxes twice
the wings them selves are set into the boxes (saturn parts on top) so when assembling it goes (the box) on top of the wing and the wing in the box there is a notch taken out ot the back of the rear of the box to accomplish this I know it sounds difficult to follow but I will post ics later this weekend
again many may know this but I just found out and man is it easyer to do this way

I realize this thread is now miles deep but what are the plans for the main fuselage? if anyone out there is woking on this or planning on producing let us know. I have seen some excellent ones but most still fall just a little bit short in both length and width to the actual model.

Thanks

Lee

I just recently became aware that there were 2 distince versions cast at ilm for the filming here is my take on it there is the pics in the chronicles books one shows a split horizontally through the fuzzy (fuselage) and upper and lower half these wre used as the main models and heromodels and the other is split vertically through the fuzzy fron the back laft and right sides thses are the pyro tech models for explosions

does any one else have info on this there is a well know pic with Joe Viscosil and someother guy showing the vertical split

I have been looking at the dims given for the cannons and I found a flaw in them
the cannon body is stated at 3/4 w1/16 wall and then the next is 5/8 this is wrong as it would lead to a very lose fit the differance between 3/4 and 5/8 is 1/8 or 2/16 so if the wall on the body tube is only 1/16 then there is a 1/16 gap between it and the 5/8 at least this is how I see it so I am looking to change these dims
