The rail insert is slip fit, if you paint the portions that contact the inside of the aluminum control box it will be difficult to re-insert.

After seeing the first pictures by customers, I'm waiting unpatiently for the 2nd batch/run! Too bad I didn't already decide to purchase one when I still had the chance during the 1st run. But you always get smarter in retrospect.

Do the DHL shipments to the States require a signature on delivery?

every kit includes a helper circuit board containing tactile switches and neopixel LEDs for the arrows as well as an optional kill switch for the + line of a main board for fX wiring.

also each kit includes a non-functional faux "reveal board that sits on top of the helper for the authentic circuit board look in the box.

these are being retained for QC issues found but the hilts are not being delayed. So a follow up parcel containing the boards will come later once we've sorted out the QC issues.

So if there hadn’t been a delay in shipping you wouldn’t have a chance to remove them in time?

They always text me and give me the option to “pre-sign” online so I don’t have to be present for the delivery. Otherwise they require a sig. I’m in California.

It's my first post here, although I followed this thread since a long time! My amazing wife made me the best gift ever for Christmas and bought this Wonderfull hilt. (I'm based in UK, so I received it 2 days ago, good luck for the others, it's really worth the wait).

I just have a question on the copper neck. I know that most of you will weather the hilt but personally I like when they are clean and shiny. It's not a big deal and I can totally live with it but just in case you know, my copper neck have a some darker area, is there something that I can do to retrieve the brightness everywhere?

Brasso works well.

Mi3lpops , use a metal cleaner/polish compound like brasso as BTTUK mentioned (or similar) and then a spray clearcoat to prevent further oxidation

Yes, they require a signature but you can opt out of that if you aren't going to be home at time of delivery

Halliwax and others have been recommending Tamiya ‘German grey’... just need to confirm which color. Oh it’s in his thread:
