Limited Run Mynock Cave Dagobah Oxygen Tank

Here’s a reassurance post.

I now have molds for the Valve, the cartridge and the entire unit. A Michell sweep arm piece is on its way to me, and a new batch of resin is on its way to me. USPS is taking forever.

(I also have a mold of 1/2 mode kit parts, #2 is also in the mail)

I had to buy new resin because my last batch became tainted somehow. All the casts look translucent, like raw meat, but are hard as a rock. They fully cured, so I’m stumped. I’m guessing moisture or chemical contamination, and had to buy another 8lbs.

The molds all preform beautifully though! All you’ll have to do is fill bubbles on the bottom surface :)

While I wait on USPS… I took one of my see through casts and hit it with primer to make a mock up for you! First, the shapes are wonderful. (Ignore the opacity, the good casts I make for you won’t look like this)

Again, I want to reassure everyone, your casts will look like the Ep 1 casts, light tan/white and solid looking. I’m starting with fresh resin to make sure you get quality.

I may sell the alien looking ones for cheaper later on... they’re solid and look great with paint but they piss me off haha

Knobs to come, and if I do ID any other greeblies I’ll let y’all know

Okay everyone, here’s an update:

I think the winter temperatures are affecting the resin, including shipment.

Thankfully, I was wrong. These slightly opaque casts are fully cured. It’s been days for some of these and they are hard as a rock. If you’re painting your casts this shouldn’t be a problem. A little auto primer first might be nice, or the 2x rustoleum colors, because the surface is very smooth. Is there anyone that cares about the color of the raw cast? Some of these are really good pours, and fully functional. I talked to the company and they can’t figure it out either, chemical reactions are weird sometimes.

I have a little surprise for everyone too. We have not IDed the bottom greeblies, but I made a close version for now. They’re parts from the Wankel Engine kit, famously used on the Millenium Falcon

I also have conversations going with my supplier, both of my 16 pounds are from the same batch, I’ll report back
