In regards to the whole Superman debate. About a year ago, DC Comics (the publisher who owns the rights to Superman) had their universe rebooted in a sort of universe-spannig story. That move was heavily criticized, but I maintain that it's the best thing DC could have done, seeing as the universe was a wreck before it. Now they can move on without any continuity problems and they're doing fine on that.
However, this brought many a change. Among others, Superman's costume was changed. Namely his red underwear is now gone. Superman, these days, looks like this:
Usually, the colours are a lot brighter, you know. Regular red and regular blue. But this the best shot I could find of it. It's a night shot.
And for reference and perhaps general interest, this is Supergirl:

can't help but notice Supergirl kept HER undies! :lol. Regardless of the current comic, that costume is LAME. I'm suprised they messed with his costume yet again, seems like they tried that around the time he was killed off in the comics. Supermans funeral was when I gave up on the comicbooks. Frankly I thought Superman Returns was a great costume, and not a bad movie compared to SupermanIII.

I actually like it. I'm glad DC got rid of alot of heroes undies with the new 52.
It could have been way worse...

But that's not the first time they've done it, it's at least the second time they've rebooted their universe because things got too complicated and became a wreck. Give them a couple of decades and they'll do it again as this universe starts to become a tangled wreck like the last time.
Anyhow, the new Superman costume is pretty ugly, imo, it needs the red undies to break things up a bit.

Supes took some getting used to I admit- but now I rather like it. It helped me realize the truth that, well, red underwear on the outside is stupid looking, lol. I realize now that I was only a fan of it for nostalgia's sake
The new movie depicts him without the red shorts as well, although so far I'm digging the comic more, since he has a bold red belt. The movie appears to just have a yellow outline of a belt.
