Thanks. That would be cool. All the pics I've seen are so washed out. I was thinking either green or white.
I'm also at a loss for the exact diameter of the hose. I'm pretty sure it is narrower than what is on a tie pilot. I've got a few sources for hose in the works, maybe something will pan out. I really want the hoses to be flimsy. I got some with my Laws helmet, but they are WAY too stiff.
I got my flightsuit in from Corellian Exports and it is top-notch. They put a slot in the left sleeve for a commpad, but I can't remember seeing one on an at-at pilot. Just the thing on the glove.
Just found this: According to Marmit, it just looks silver. Weird how the armor has a blue tint to it.
yea, in spending some time really hunting i couldnt find a decent clear photo of the movie costume, but the fan made costumes seem to be half left tusk silver and half left tusk green, so you should be fine either way.
After many months of random eBay searches, I finally came across a pair of gray moonboots. They zip up the side, so they're not exact, but they'll work better than muckluks or chemical boots. In the one pic I saw of the boots, they almost looked painted to me.
When you search ebay for boots, you need to add -nap* to the search so you can weed out the four hundred pair of Naploean Dynamite moon boots. Sheesh.
People keep saying to get welder gloves, but I really think that's a bad suggestion. They just look like big oven mits to me, and not very accurate. I tried them for my Dengar before I found some perfect gloves from an online surplus store. The welder gloves were so bulky I couldn't put my finger on my gun's trigger. Plus they made my hand stink.
The boots look really good. How are you painting them? I figure that's what they did for the real boots.
Thanks. I just sprayed them with regular old spraypaint. American Accents I believe. I can tell it's gonna be messy because the boots are getting a crackle pattern in them like a dried up lake bed. I don't think fabric paint will work because they are made of a nylon material that won't hold the color.
I don't suppose this surplus place had gloves in white??
My commpad is gonna look much better than that. That reminds me, did at-at drivers have a commpad on the sleeve? That pic in the VD looks to me like he doesn't have one. Only the thing on the glove.
from the pics i've found and the VD references i did over the weekend the comm pad is on the "bell" of the glove. i picked up some plain jane leather gardening gloves in white and and am going to try to add the proper "bell" to them as i cant seem to find the exact glove type that i want. i'll post pics as i make progress.
I don't recall specifically where I got the gloves. It was either www.cheaperthandirt.com or...shoot, anothe that I can't remember. I can't check right now since my company blocks "gun" related websites.
They are fairly form fitting on the hand (not tight, but when compared to welder gloves they are) and have long guantlets that are slightly narrow. The problem is they are used and fairly dirty, as if there were used to work on engines. You can see them a little in this pic of my Dengar costume:
Whatever they are (that's me in the pic, in case anyone missed it), they WERE white, but came dirty. Those were the cleanest of the three pair that were sold together for about $9. Another pair I tried to dye black for stormtrooper use, but now they're just dark purple. :angry
I'm sure it's been posted somewhere, but does anyone have a source for all the greeblies for that AT-AT helmet? I have a TIE helm that I'd like to convert.

Although mine didn't come with the coils on the backplate or the gears on the sides of the chestbox. Don't know if this was by design or not.

I've got a couple of vendors sending me samples of hose. If I find anything good, I'll let you know.
Boots:
70's moonboots. I found mine at a place called Candy's in London I believe. The only pair they had and they just barely fit. I had to cut the tags off and they were blue with gray soles and red stripes.
Gloves:
Still workin on it. I'm toying around with getting a pair custom made, but that will be mucho expensive.
Ejection straps: www.thestrapworks.com 2-inch silver gray nylon. Not totally accurate in my opinion, but I got tired of looking.
Compad:
Not sure. Working on scratchbuilding one. Might get some cast up if it turns out ok.
