Just check my albums...they´re public

Thanks, Markus

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

just looked at the album.
The thumbnails are there but when you click the image it does not work. The other album works fine.

From the thumbnails I can't tell much. Is the dent on the top left bevel? or the gap you refer to at the bottom?

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

The pictures seem to be coming in clear now. The test fitting of your parts looks excellent, Markus! :D

I see what you mean with your steel sleeve barrel.. I wonder how that happened? Your aluminum sleeve barrel looks to fit great like you said. But the steel sleeve does look like it ended up a tad thin around the edges of yours for some reason. You may be able to fix it up some by filing flat the sharp edge all the way around the opening of your barrel until the dents and waves are evened out with the rest, and then you could re-angle the chamfers back down and make a sharp straight edge instead of the sharp wavy edge you have now.

Also note that the Crossbar spacers included in the Mount kits are a little small in diameter and thickness, so the crossbar laying on the grill can be fixed accurately by increasing your spacer thickness to stick out roughly around the height/width of the upper 'rails' on the side of your Mauser. :thumbsup

I just looked at the album again and still cant see the individual pics.

Pics are not visible in the thread for me either.

I am waiting for an email of the pics from Markus.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

Hi, you see my album, is correct the kit for my denix?

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

So kpax is the only one having problems to see the pics???

Maybe try to refresh the page, I had the album marked as "private" first, but later changed to "public"...maybe it´s got anything to do with the change?

I already thought about filing the edges down, but that would leave me with an even bigger gap. What would be the correct height/ thickness of the spacers?

What do you mean with "correct for my...denix"?

ALL kits were made in a way so that they work with either a Denix, a MGC or a real C96. It´s basically just the amount of work you have to put into attaching the parts to your base-gun, which makes these different from each other.

Check this thread, post #526for some excellent info how to modify the Denix to make it work with your kit :thumbsup

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

when I click the thumbnail I only see the image number #1369 etc.

Like Deadbolt said, the spacer should be just thicker than the rail of the receiver.

For the spacers, The washers are close but I found a check nut like the thumb nut on the outside works really well. Also may be a added strength for the threaded rod in the frame. You could epoxy the nut to the frame in addition to the thread.

Pics show up in the thread for me.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

Kpax, are you sure the images aren't being blocked by some filtering software on your end? I thought about beefing up the spacers but I don't want the scope to sit too far out. Are we saying let the grill dictate how far out the crossbar sits? I think we are.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

I rebooted and the pics are there now!

gotta love technology...

I thought the spacers were just about right but if the grill hits you may need to add a washer. another 1/16 or so will not change the scope position much.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies FOUND, Update in 1st Post

The spacers on the Hero look like they might be slightly different from one another with the front/right spacer being the tallest of the two, but roughly they seem to be around 5mm tall/thick. Looking at the ESB stunt it looks like they might possibly be angled also but it's very tough to tell for sure.

Between the possible height and angle differences, and the Mauser magwell angle, one or maybe all of those makes the mount set at a slight angle not quite parallel to the side of the Mauser like in the top-view photo. I bet it would have been pretty difficult if you were to sight that thing in with the scope pointing that far inward towards the barrel..maybe that's why Han's aim is so far off? :lol

Awesome work Markus! But I can't see where you said the sleeve barrel is bent, can you send a closer pic?

Look at the wavy-ness of the metal against his finger. I'm guessing that is what he is talking about.

I've got everything put together and it looks great, except for some places where I will have to refinish. Are there any recommendations for paint or finishes? I have the black ox kit and would like to stay as close to that as possible.
