Got the suit back from the seamstress on Friday. I have been a puff painting manic. I have the front finished now I'm moving on to the mask. There are quite a few seams in the Taylor print where the webbing does not line up. I'm using the puff painting as a opportunity to cover up the mismatches. The mask will be a challenge in that department.

The first party of the season is the 20th! So I will have to have it complete by then. I will try to post daily updates of my progress.

On another note, I purchased one of DamnGoodPaul's masks and puff painted it while I was waiting for my suit to be sewn. I love the darker color but it is not as thick as the Taylor print. Here is a pic of it with a set of lenses from joalai009. Now if I can figure out how to sew it together myself. :/

There are two black lines running down from the nose area. Don't forget to puff that. Make sure you have the top seam line sew right on the black line because the seam line should become one black line, you don't want any of the red to show. You are really good at doing puffy paint. Awesome work.:thumbsup by the way, can you take some pictures of the thumb and palm area? I am still a bit confused. Thanks bro.

Jeff, can you do me a favor and a upload a photo of the back of the suit including the belt? My seamstress is having some difficulties. Not serious, she wants to see a photo just for clarification... Thank you :)

Re: Amazing Spiderman Suit using TaylorMcManus' print (Pic Heavy)

I finally sewed together my mask from DamnGoodPaul. I just have to finish puff painting the seams. The mask is awesome!! I thought the thin fabric would feel cheap but it doesn't at all. It feels like a second skin. I may end up getting a whole suit from him.

One thing I have to do is make new lenses. The frames are curved to be used with a face shell. They don't sit quite right on your face and I don't really think I need a face shell. Time to take a crash course on casting! I taught myself how to sew in the last week so how bad can casting be? :/

Here is a picture with one lens temporarily attached.

That's a beautiful show of the L-shaped zippers. I'm sure you've helped a lot of people out.

That mask is awesome!
Niiice!
Just heat up the lenses to bend them I'm told.
So happy the DGP mask goes together.

I like the mask! Nice work! Does the red color match the Taylor print? Could you wear them together without noticing the difference?

Awesome looking mask! Great job with it!
Have you seen the way I made my lenses? They're made of sculpy, which actually turned out to be an excellent material to use. Because even after it's cooked and hardened it's still slightly flexible. So if you back it with a solid flexible metal like the mesh from a speaker front I used, not only does it make them very durable, it basically gives you lenses that can be bent and curved however you want them.
Plus it's fairly easy and super cheap. You can get a huge block of sculpy for about 6 bucks, and then it's just a matter of finding a cheap speaker or something with metal mesh on it.
Just thought you might want to give that a shot to save time and money. You can check out exactly how I made mine in my build thread. :D

Thanks for the tip! I have been watching your build. It's very impressive! I had that thought with the lenses but my sculpting skills are not so hot. I bought a product called InstaMorph. They are basically plastic pellets that can be melted down, shaped, and then they harden when the cool. Going to make a template of the lenses using clay and fill it with the InstaMorph. Hopefully it works! I'm trying it this weekend.
