OK, after receiving quite a few comments about the feet and exchanging posts with others, I decided to build the feet 2.0. But I didn't want to change my current ones, because they meet 2 very important criteria.
1. They are sturdy and I'm not afraid of falling or breaking my ankles
2. They are comfortable and I can stand and walk in them for a long time.

Version 2.0 should definitely contain the first point. The most important criterion. But with the new version I hope to be able to walk better and more naturally. Maybe I was really a little too generous with the dimensions of the feet.

So, the old version had 2 different sole sizes. With the new version I only use the smaller one. And I also cut away a little at the front so that I have almost the normal size of my shoe. Some room in front for toes.

Well, Feet 2.0 is progressing.
Put the current foot next to it as a comparison. Yes, the new one is definitely shorter.
Today I cut the wooden parts, glued almost everything and took the toes off the first foot and provisionally attached them to the new ones. Actually looks good. As soon as the binding arrives I will put everything together and do a walk test.

I'm a little excited. There's a convention in my neighborhood in July. The first so far north and I would really love to go there. I've never been to anything like this.

So, the last steps until the completion of the new feet. Attached toes, pulled everything tight, dressed with duct tape and glued the sole.

I think I can do a test tomorrow. Now I'm really excited and excited.

That's it. First test was good too. But this time the foam panels make cracking noises. I have no idea why or if this will go away. It's definitely a little easier to walk with. As soon as my belt is there I will do another fitting.

So, I think that's enough now. I am satisfied with the result. I can walk well in the feet, have a good stand, the hair also fit (possibly I still have to do something on the top. There seems to be an edge sometimes. Or the hair just stuck somewhere).
At almost 25 degrees, the fitting was already a little taste. The thick belly is also not an advantage.

I wanted to thank you for all the tips and support. But, I don't think I'll be seeking another membership in RL. It would have been an honor for me to be a member, but the effort would be a bit too much for me now.
Then I will remain a free Wookie who joins whoever promises the most fun and adventure.

Made!! Today was my first event, my first troop.
It was so wonderful and overwhelming - I definitely have to do it again.
Luckily the temperatures were pleasant - what you call pleasant in a mobile sauna. I realized that the Wookiee is a favorite when I had to take several photos on the way to the entrance. I'd love to of course. You're proud of what you've created.
Also 2 other Wookiees were there.

And that's where my first event ended, unfortunately. I didn't see an incline and fell sideways. The holder for my shoe broke out. Actually exactly right. Before I fall over completely or worse, break my ankle, the bracket will break.

Very annoying and disappointing as that was the end of my first troop.

But I like to think about the almost 3 1/2 hours I was able to stroll through the corridors as a North Wookie.

Anyway, I know what I have to do - fix the foot. I had already considered taking something more stable than a plate, but then things would have turned out differently. I would have either fallen completely or broken something. Even though I'm sure the snowboard boots would have prevented that - but not the fall.
So I think this construction is good. I'll have to think about this some more.

I definitely learned: Take some hairspray with you and don't leave it in the changing room - there was a strand that just didn't want to stay.

On the weekend I had the pleasure to meet Nostradamus for the first time during the Project Area 51 in Kiel. It was the first con in the very North of Germany and hopefully not the last.
As a welcome present I created his own trading card in a holder made from clear plexi and grey PVC, including a certificate of authentity.

So, after the first problem appeared at my first event, I have now fixed it. The only question is, was it a problem? Actually it worked great. It acted like a kind of safety valve, which gave way when nothing could be saved. So worse was prevented. I could have fallen completely or injured my knee. The ankle was well protected by the snowboard boot.

With this new, more stable variant (made of a thin aluminum plate), this safety net no longer exists. So if I step wrong again and start falling, I will fall too.

Today I also dealt with my stilts again. I wanted to give them another chance. Apart from the fact that this one is harder to put on than mine, I really can't walk in it. Standing is extremely tiring. My legs are pushed outwards. I have no idea where this is coming from or how to fix it.

So, I decided to make another modification to my feet.
The connection is more stable, the footing is safer and walking on uneven surfaces should be easier.
Connection more stable: the rather thin wooden plate is replaced by a thicker one, plus an aluminum plate as reinforcement.
Better to walk and stand: replace the two bottom foam panels with slightly wider ones. I looked at the worktall. These have a bump on the outside that gives a little more stability. I've adjusted mine accordingly.

Now that I've sawed and glued everything into place, it's time to wrap it with duct tape and then do the walking test.

But: I'm stuck here. Now how do I attach the rest? Either the connection to the base frame. Then the question is how do I attach it.
Or the boot directly on the base frame. The same question then arises.
A quick test with the bottom mat. What is the best way to glue? Well, the hot glue is the only one that will hold. At least on the wooden board.
