I don't know why I didn't post about the subject before, overlooked it, but I DID, however, make a wig to put on the back of Billy's head. I don't know at what point I worked on the sculpture of the head, but when I was last working on it last, I added a sculpted "hairline", like what you would see on your Trick Or Treat Studios Michael Myers masks or any Halloween latex mask that generally has hair, so the manufacturers would know where to place each layer of hair right when the glue was added. But instead of me just gluing the wig directly to the head, I am making plans to make the head manually, but COMPLETELY functional, fitted with a ventriloquist dummy head mechanism, with side-to-side moving eyes and a spring-loaded, door-hinged moving mouth. I actually made the mechanism before for the mark II, but a single part needed to be welded so I used plumbing solder instead, and then it didn't hold up as much I'd hoped it would and caused the mouth mechanism to not work properly. But I have managed to master the eye mech, which steer the eyes side to side on a pivot. And like the screen-used puppets, I am designing the Mark III head to have the back section removeable ALONG with the hair, to have access to the insides and replace parts, if I need to. So, how I made the wig is that I made that I took the sculpture and used the foil and duct tape method up to the sculpted hairline to help in crafting a "wig cap" for the hair to be placed on before it can be attached to the head. After the duct tape and foil pattern was strategically cut and flattened, I traced it onto so thin black craft felt then I used a sewing needle and black thread for binding the darts and wedge cuts together. And for the hair, I actually used a long black costume wig but I carefully undid the threads that was holding the wig to its own wig cap using a seam ripper and used the hair wefts and I took the thread and needle again to sew each weft onto my felt wig cap. After all the wefts were sewn in place, I did a ROUGH TRIM to the hair just because the hair was simply too long to be Billy's hair, but when the head is enough to its completion, I will then attach the hair to give its final haircut. I didn't take pictures because the HD is not the greatest for the camera to process, but I hope everyone gets the idea.
