Hey folks. I recieved this derwent casting from an artist about 5 years ago and have only just dug it out and want to finish it IG88 style.
When I did recieve it, the heat apparently had made the resin soften and it was actually flexible. In lieu of asking for a replacement at the time I want to try to correect the shape. It is most certainly somewhat oval shaped up through most of the bottom half of the piece.
I have since used a hair dryer on it to try to reshape it but it's kept that slightly oblong shape. My question is, what would you use to reshape it back to its circular base? I was thinking of heating it with SOMEthing circular inside it to help reshape it against. It's such an unusual with the taper shape I dont know what that item might be.
Alternatively I think a strong ring on the outside would work .. Knowing that the casting should be cut for the IG88 build, I was thinking of making this cut which would allow for easier access inside. I've looked about and found nothing on how people go about this or how the bottom pieces fits inside was seprarated. ANY help at this stage would be entirely appreciated.
