To display sure. Dennis will have 2 locking glass cases for valuable or "dangerous" items.

I hope you can make bro!

Hey why the new location? How do I put this ...hmmm... isn't that in "the hood"?

It's not that bad actually. It's not Irvine for sure but it's the best we could get.

The reason for the change in location from the El Bekhal hall is simply cost. They wanted $1500 for the space. Even if we had everyone on the list pay we would only have about $750. Already a few people have told me either they can't come or they won't know until later.

Even right now, it's looking slim that we will have enough money for the "hood" place.

Unless everyone wants to pay $40-$50 each.

I REALLY NEED EVERYONE TO PAY UP THOUGH. I have to give them $325 next week and I only have $280 so far.

PLEASE EVERYONE PAY UP!

These kind of comments really annoy me especially when people have no clue of the location or have ever been there. Theres bad areas everywhere even in Beverly Hills...this place isn't in the ghetto. Its in a quiet area just off the freeway and my clock clubs have been using this location for years for their meetings and marts without anyone ever getting carjacked or mugged. You actually have a better chance of being robbed in Beverly Hills then here. The location is just a few miles north of Veterans Stadium thats next to to one of the largest builders of commercial planes in the country although the company name escapes me. I really resent the "hood" remark.

All I'm saying is lets not give this place a negative label....I think you'll find it acceptable even if it isn't the Taj Mahal

We will be paying tomorrow!

I just had a question though about locations. You mentioned you needed to give a deposit but what if everyone doesn't come through or by the closing deadline you wont have enough for this location? Will you get the money back?

I only ask because it would be a shame to put the deposit down only to find out that there still isn't enough money. If you're not worried though or if even if some bail out there is still enough to cover then super.

One thing I was wondering though, seeing as in CA decent weather is usually fairly consistent, what about something like a park? I'm sure that seems silly but would it be just as expensive or so to have people bring tables or to rent some tables and chairs and do a set up outside like that? Sometimes some nice parks have big gazebo or picnic areas as well and usually it's only like $50-$100 to rent an area like that. I'm sure safety for props and stuff may be a concern but I just thought maybe that could be an option if it turns out there is just no where to go/afford. Maybe it could be a bit more informal of a meet and greet?

Again just an idea in case it's looking like even this place will end up being a no go due to funds.

Also is there anyone who has an area where there is a community center to rent? Like in a Homeowners association somewhere? I know for the amount of people going that may be to many for an area like that but maybe not if some people can't make it.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **Sunday March 25th** UPDATE 1-13 PAYMENTS DUE!!!

Great questions Becky.

1) IF there is a shortage of funds, which I hope there will not be, then it will be out of pocket from me. That is exactly why I need everyone, who is going to attend, pay by this next week. That way I can make the call to cancel if the funds are not close.

2) Myself and Dennis have searched several places. It's not as easy as you would think. First you have to figure the cost. Which most places want $1000+ for only 5 hours. Then there is the size of the space. Last year we barely made everything fit and the lighting was awful. Then there are the tables. Places like parks, community rooms at condo associations or library rooms do not offer or even own the tables we need.

Dennis and I even had to plead our case to the El Bekahl shriner's. Ultimately they want way too much money.

Other things we tried to be conscious of is the locale (city). There are people coming from near San Diego, the inland empire, calabasas and LA so the location was crucial so that everyone is encouraged to come.

I hope that helps.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **Sunday March 25th** UPDATE 1-13 PAYMENTS DUE!!!

Hey, what's wrong with Beverly hills? I think we can get the directors guild hall before those pesky Oscar parties grab it! As for the Taj Mahal, I don't think we could call it the "So Cal party" if we have it there. (Kidding of course) Tymer, I hereby retract my "hood" comment. My intent was not to taint the festivities with my crass and unthoughtfull comment. I fall on my sword sir. (a prop sword) Rocker is sorry. By the way, even if i can't make it this year, BRAD, I am greatfull for your efforts. I know from experience what it is like to plan an event and hear a thousand comments from the peanut gallery. again, Rocker hangs his head in shame. I feel like a cotton headed ninny muggins or a ...a ......stinkin' recaster!!!
