Ho Ho, i've finally got my idea, and received one part of the overall gift this morning, just got to make the rest now and put it all together!
Mind you it's going to take a few weeks, with three kids to look after, my progress will be slightly slower than normal, but rest assured i will have this out before xmas!

I usually don't tell my recipient until Christmas, or when I know they've opened their gift. It won't take too much detective work to figure out that it was me, once they open it.

The Gift I am making is a first for me so I will be doing a Build Thread After I know My Recipient Opened theirs. In Fact I love it so much I am making one for myself as well.

Draphin you said it brother! I am planning the same thing. And I too am planning on telling my SS who is responsible for what ever happiness (or misery:love) they may receive from this oddity.

I know the feeling. I am spending alot of time on my Santa and I am like I want one. Will have to wait till the first of the year for me to have my own. I really hope my giftee loves it as much as I do :lol Though I did step way outside of my comfort zone.

I think that makes these Gifts all the better as we are Learning at the same time we are giving. Education is the best gift one can give ones self.
Just beware in some places one can get beat up by simply reffering to ones self as one. :confused wacko

I finally figured out what I'm painting my recipient. This is going to be fun.

Mine is going out in the mail tomorrow.
I'm sending two things, both bought but one of the items had to be hand weathered to look authentic which took quite a few hours.

I hope he like them.

So. Turns out that oil paints take 10 times longer to dry in the current climate than I thought! I figured a few days but my first stage has been drying for a week and STILL isn't ready for next steps.

Hoping I can get this done on time!

Man This is amazing ! I can only hope for something so cool.

I love how everyone is really stretching themselves for their Santa's! It's made me rethink and see if I can come up with anything more original than what I was going for.
PS: To my Santa, I can't even begin to express how badly I want to know WHO you are when I get my present! Really REALLY BAD!

I find myself rethinking my approach. I may need to push the envelope a bit more, but I am not sure my skill level can make that happen, but I will try.

I just hope mine is happy.

Paint is going down. By far my most feared portion of this project but also the best as it means I am almost done. Had to go back to my old job and beg for a few boxes so I could put together my own box to ship this monster. :eek

I Got my pieces together. Now I have to wrap and then ship. also going to make my own box because this package is 3 inches too big for the package I bought. Hope to post on Monday.
