2011 RPF Secret Santa Gift Exchange (sign up has closed)

So I had to do it, my girlfriend made me do it, lol, she had me open up my box from my SS and I'm having trouble typing this cause my eyes are actually watering.

Look at what they gave me:

(The last one is a picture of it with my Starwars Collection)

I actually love Robocop and the Ed209 made my dad jealous, he walked in and tried to steal it. :behave

But what got me most was the statue... not because it is Star Wars or it's from before I was born (Everything was way cooler before I was born, I mean, have you seen a plymoth Barracuda :lol) It's because it was a gift pulled out of his personal collection for me. It's become one of my 3 most prized possessions. Right there with OB's Saber and with the epic edition of gears or war 3 (Because my friend gave up his copy at the store so I could have one when the store only got 2 copies in and he paid for it for me)

We can tell your excited with the Statue the Picture is blurry cause you were shaking with excitement.:love Fantastic Piece!

Hahaha, it's actually cause for the first two pictures I used my iPhone (Cause my old phone broke and this was about the same price as just getting a new phone) but I forgot about the iPhone when I unwrapped the statue and went and dug up the old camera and then found batteries for it and the cables for it. :D But also I was shaking when I took the picture cause I almost dropped the camera getting the cap off.

Ha Ha..... So glad you like this! I was really scratching my head on what to send. I also received more from my secret santa....seems there's a part II... I'm saving the "tube" for christmas! I love this secret santa stuff! p.s. I agree that this was a very cool thing orange blend did!

Some awesome gifts there!
O_B you have made me so jealous! That truly is over and above anything I was expecting to see here :)
But as others have said, if anyone deserves it, it's you :D

That truly is over and above anything I was expecting to see here :)

You're telling me! :lol I almost feel guilty having it! (not so guilty that I won't bring it to work tomorrow and show it off though :D)

In truth though all of the gifts I've seen thus far have been absolute gold. HGB giving Neo something from his personal collection, DG's epic Funkyjedi doll, etc, etc!

But as others have said, if anyone deserves it, it's you :D

It's weird hearing that from people... Not sure how I became the saint of the RPF but I'll take it! :lol

Wow!! Jealousy mixed with excitement here. :lol That is one badass piece of resin you got there, and it lights up!!

My giftee should recieve theirs in the next day or two. And I've been watching my mailbox like a hawk. :lol I think my mailman thinks I'm a bit nutty....

damn o_b your gift makes me sad panda, because there can nothing be posted in here that is more awesome than this. also. besides this, the stuff i sent out looks like crap :/

but in all seriousness, finhead is awesome sauce, and you deserved it :)

also i can seeTDD standing by his mailbox, and looking in every 5 seconds, checking if he didnt miss the mailman while he blinked

got mine today!!!

Waiting for X-mas to disclose ? ;)

Alrighty. My "thank you" will include a story, bear with me. ;)

As the organizer of the event I found it a little disappointing knowing who my Santa was. I'm the type who loves surprises so knowing the person that's sending you the gift sometimes can eliminate that sense of true surprise. Finhead was my Santa this year and I must admit, he did a fantastic job of surprising the socks off me!

When I first sent him the PM with my address he replied with "what would you like?" I told him what my interests were and he said "oh, we don't have much in common! :lol"

I'm a primarily sci-fi guy and Finhead is primarily a superhero guy.

I told him not to worry too much about my interests, by now he had sent me a link to some of his work and I said "don't focus so much on my genres, you make cool stuff and I like cool things". I thought I always have room to expand my horizons, I noticed he had some artwork posted in his gallery so I figured I might get a cool painting or something like that. :)

Well, guess what arrived today...

:eek :eek :eek :eek :eek

He wrapped it like a tank so it was well protected. When opening it I noticed the Iron Man shape and thought "Holy crap! He went all out and sent me an IM helmet kit! But no! This thing was expertly painted and weathered (as any good helmet should be). It even had the detachable faceplate and rear portion!

Held on with magnets it's a BEAUTIFUL piece. I was admiring the craftsmanship of the helmet when I noticed a little button on the inside of the chin with a battery and some wires. I thought "no way..."

YES WAY!

I have no idea how I can thank Finhead enough! All I can say is that if he treats his customers half as good as some random guy he's sending a gift to on the internet you should buy everything he makes!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I was shaking when I opened this and it will be a highly treasured part of my collection! Not to mention, as it's the only Marvel prop it'll stand out to everyone who visits!

Dude that is so awesome ! I a jealous with happiness for you.

You are deserving. It takes time and effort to organize this and you did that for us. And I am grateful. I am happy to see you receive something as wonderful as this and be as happy as you are. Congrats...

So... where do you work again ? :behave

LOL.

Glad everyone is getting and giving some great gifts. :)
Also really happy Orange_Blend likes the lid, was worried as it just isn't his taste. Least I could do for making sure this all goes well and getting everyone in the spirit. Thanks goes to you and everyone else in on this event. :cool:thumbsup

OK. Mine shipped. Slight chance of x-mas delivery. I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and making something to an unknown standard.
Thanks to you guys who PMed me feedback/advice.

Quick note for future reference. I really got whacked with overseas shipping. I thought about just sending my SS the money. However, the real joy in this is the anticipation of getting something completely random.

If you are going to ship overseas for next year, the key is under 4lbs and 12in. I do not want people to limit their creativity, but mine just missed the mark at 13in and 5 1/2lbs.

I posted my gift early. My SS really put a lot of thought into what I would like and more important, what i didn't have. (a brass nameplate for my custom M41A)

Huge thanks to everyone, especially Orange_Blend, for making this happen. Also, for Finhead for going above and beyond to thank him.

I have to say I am very impressed with everyone. I was excited but a little nervous starting this SS this year after hearing some SS horror stories on the net. Everyone is being kind and very generous. All these gifts shows a great deal of thought put into a name on a screen. This has been a enjoyable experience from the start and I want to extend my personel thanks to everyone who participated in this SS you all have made this year that much special for me. Thank you all and happy holidays.

I got mine last week. :) My son literally threw a fanboy fit. LMAO!

Yeah! Good thing I still have a working record player! He's been begging me to play it so he and his buddy can hear it.

Thanks Pizzy!

I sent my SS gift out and it should be there within the next couple days at the latest. I just don't see it holding a candle to anything on here that I've seen though!
