I'm back with a minor update visually, not the most stimulating stage photograph wise, but a major update on this project development wise. I spent this past weekend working out the scale for the remainder of the bridge. Once I had that all figured out I drew up a 1:1 scale floor plan of the whole bridge, the stations, the main viewer and turbolift. I also created my template for the profile/supports for the stations. As I said, not the most stimulating of photos with this stage but it means I can move forward on building the stations, turbolift, etc. Things should start getting exciting in the next update. Now on to the pics...
Thanks for looking. You guys (and gals) are what keeps me going with this project.
Just got back from watching the awesome new Star Trek film and it's great to see that you have picked this project back up! What are the dimensions of your floor plan?
I'm going to be seeing the new movie on Friday. Here are a couple of the key dimensions for the floor plan. A clever person should be able to work out the rest. There is one part that didn't jive and I had to make an adjustment to get everything working together from the McMaster plans but that was it.
Very nice- I'll have to copy the idea for some custom Joes I made a while back JoeCustoms.com > View topic - To Boldly Go , but no way I could make Sulu's scanner Also if you want to make the seats higher- you can unscrew the bast and use a thin plastic tube ( the reservoir from a pen works great)
I have said this in other threads.....
This is why I love the craft...Wonderful work and I look forward to your build. Being able to build from a kit is one thing. Being able to scratch build is something entirely different. Again I look forward to this.
Thanks, everyone, for the wonderful comments, I really appreciate it. I'm just glad to provide some entertainment for everyone while having fun myself.
Atlanthia, I should have some progress pics up either tonight or tomorrow. I've been pulling overtime at work and have been feeling exhausted this last week.
