Zendragon's Sherlock Holmes Project

This project kinda started shorty after the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film came out but got put on the back burner. So here we are in 2011 and moving full speed ahead with this trio of Holmes, Watson (Randy Foos) and Adler (LdyDarkStr) http://www.therpf.com/f24/irene-adler-wip-update-2-28-11-a-107459/

This is the basic look I am planning on:

The bulk of the pieces for Holmes are being done by Magnoli Clothiers.

The Frock is coming along nicely, although there was a weird color balance issue with this photo. The coat is midnight blue:

I picked up a pair of Paddock boots which I plan to distress a bit:

And also started working on my hat:

Looks pretty good so far. The proportions on the coat look a little off but that may be the angle of the photo. Looks to need a higher tipover/button stance and the buttons closer together. The bottom button on Downey's coat is at his waist.

Also, the collar/lapel shape need work. It's not a peak lapel. Here's a good shot of the shape.

I have mentioned them to Magnoli and in an effort to get me my coat for Wonder Con (3 weeks away) we are going with the pics you see. We will be refining the look after the con to get it more accurate. Thanks though for making note of the little details, cause I am not sure that I would have caught them.

Well Gaffer (Randy) ended up (for now anyway) doing the brown herringbone suit, due to not being able to souce that grey windowpaned fabric in the time that we had.

We should be posting up some pics post Wonder Con with of first run of the costumes.

I don't mean to be nit-picky, but I couldn't help but notice the buttons should be on the other side. Holmes' buttons are on his left, and yours are on your right.
Overall everything is looking great so far! I can't wait to see the finished outfit!

They're on the correct side, Zen's coat is buttoned up while Downey's is open.
